Sure it's stupid, but just slang like any other period in time. Most intelligent adults don't use the words unless they are trying to be funny or something.

Yep, I remember we were at Universal, and he was asking people if there were any "fire" places we could go out to that night, and none of them knew WTF he was talking about

Still not as bad as spelling though as "tho" and unnecessarily adding it to the end of phrases.

It's like nails on a fricking chalkboard.

I only use lit incorrectly when talking about how intoxicated I or someone else was "man you were lit at the tailgate last Saturday."
