i just take it as internet lingo. people using them irl need to be lit on fire (that was not intended to be a joke play on words)

I hear it in real life all the time from high school and college aged individuals. It drives me crazy

Had a friend who was saying "fire" back in 2004. He was literally the only person doing it and people looked at him like he was crazy. He died in 2005.

If I hear someone use "fire" as a descriptor, my first thought is how much coke does he have on him and my second thought is whether he shares.
