I love adding frozen blackberries and no ice or anything else. Chills it slightly and then have whiskey soaked blackberries to enjoy

People who muddle fruit should work at the circus.

I get the whole smoking craze, but you at least need to find a way to carb that smoke in like a bong would w bong water.

I’m convinced that most people who say they like whiskey, actually don’t like it. Whiskey is fricking nasty.
It's a stupid concept I can agree, but I had to force myself to drink whiskey for a bit before I started enjoying it. Probably should have never started in all honesty, but I was drinking a good bit of beer and I feel a lot better after drinking a couple of whiskeys than I do after 4 or 5 beers.
I had to do the same with coffee.
Nothing wrong with a good whiskey sour or old fashioned occasionally, but the drink in the OP is a bit excessive.

Until the coke, it was just a fancy Old Fashioned

So in a kind of related sort of way, is it acceptable to shoot whiskey? I mean the super expensive bourbon kind. I typically drink good bourbon over ice and for football/camp kick fires I will add Diet Coke but I got literally crucified by my buddies for shooting some very expensive bourbon a few years ago after a big game. I thought it was a legit special occasion reason but it’s like they will not leave me alone if they bring the high end good stuff to camp.

I have one of those smoked cocktail kits I use it to make smoked old fashioneds
But I feel an Old Fashioned is an acceptable bourbon cocktail

Everything dark is nasty. Vodka is much better.

This. I was basically “meh, not my cup of tea, but I don’t see the problem… oh, oh no…”

I’d drink it in a bar (minus the coke). But if you are doing that at your house what are you doing?

It's the pleasure in the process...and a result to savor.
