I don’t mind aisle passengers standing up, collecting their belongings and stretching their legs next to their assigned seat.

Now walking towards the front of the plane is not okay

I think it depends on the circumstances. What you’ve described is rude behavior.

I’m 6’8” and I’ll stand in the aisle next to my row as soon as they turn off the fasten seatbelt light. I’ll then deplane orderly.

Unless we are late landing at a hub airport...I get up and stretch next to my seat when we get to the gate. Sorry if you want to bum rush the front of the plane. You can wait your turn.
This. Hey I'm OT tall and need to stretch.

I also insist all the folks in front of me get there shite and move on before I move, just to hold up the people behind me that might be trying to inch forward.

Generally always on an aisle seat so this small measure of good manners easy to enforce.

if i'm in an aisle seat, i will stand up immediately adjacent to my seat to block those assholes from rushing down to the front.

often connecting flights give you 30 minutes to get to their gates and many times its 10-15 minute walk to the other side of airports.

Plus the OP said he was flying Southwest. People with those Group A boarding passes with a short connecting flight are trying to rush to their next gate so they can get in line and not be stuck with a middle seat. Southwest isn't terrible but a short connection where you get stuck in a middle seat despite having priority boarding is some of the reason you see people acting like this particularly on Southwest. Either that or they are just inconsiderate dumbasses. Or maybe both.

Cant imagine the horrors of commercial air travel. I take my time deplaning and make sure my pilots and stewards have everything they need before i rendez-vous with my drivers.

You would’ve never gotten to that level of wealth by worrying about people beneath you.

Your claimed wealth doesn’t check out

In contrast to the heathens on commercial airliners who adopt a dog-eat-dog approach to deplaning ?

Like the meteor men, i beg to differ

Even if they announce we have passengers with tight connections please stay seated and allow them to deplane. Sorry but Nope. That just allows the selfish people to act like they have a tight connection and deplane. I have seen many try this and when they get off the plane they all of a sudden aren't in a hurry, or go to a restaurant.

years of flying every 2 weeks your BS meter is short.

ive never understood myself. its not a pet peeve because it doesnt affect me, but its dumb as shite. you saved yourself a whole 2 minutes probably with the tradeoff of standing in the aisle for 20 minutes. good job? tools.

shite, sometimes i just sit there and wait till last so i can finish the chapter im reading.

Am I wrong or is it just common sense/common courtesy that you wait until it's your turn to get up, grab your bag, and the proceed down the aisle?

Why does it matter if a person gets up and gets their bag ahead of time to keep the line flowing when it’s their turn to go?

Everyone staying in their seat until it’s time for them to walk off the plane is idiotic.

majority of traveling public are trashy, rude, inconsiderate assholes, not to mention being world class dumbasses, the only time I've ever seen them somewhat behave in that scenario is when I've brought recently identified military MIA remains back from Hawaii, we ask them to remain seated until the escort is able to go down to the ramp to be present when the remains are offloaded

I used to travel frequently in Nigeria to/from Lagos to Port Harcourt and Abuja. For domestic travel... hand to god... people were lining up down the aisles about 45 seconds before the plane touched down.

No bullshite.

I hate when people stand in the aisle because everyone still sitting in the aisle seats gets to hang out with crotch in their face for 20 min. But at 6'8" it probably doesn't have the same impact.
