What's worse is people who jump out of hiding when bcced and reply-all without asking or even telling you first. I'm very selective now with whom I bcc on what.

Oh my gosh. The people on my team for some fricking reason believe they have to email people when they restart their computer. It annoys me to much. I really really want to do a douchey poll to send out to the team. “Is this a euphemism for you taking a shite?”

I can understand if your in the middle of a busy part of the day or something relevant. But it will just be 10 AM and some chick will be like “I’m restarting my computer.” For fricks sake.

People won’t sent an email when they go off to lunch but will when they take 45 seconds to reboot a computer. Dumb fricks.

There is an option now to ignore conversation. So easy.

I know pretty much everywhere I work for, BCC is no longer considered acceptable really.

There are fricking managers doing this.

It’s like people start seeing it blow up their in basket know they shouldn’t reply but see so many people doing it they are scared they will be left holding the rope for responsibility if they don’t reply all.

It’s the COVID toilet paper run of office politics

I bcc clients on emails to opposing counsel, but only clients I trust not to jump in. Which is now none.

I used to make fun of them, but I've definitely hit a reply all before and gotten lucky it was only 3 people.

The first mistake is the idiot who sent the original email. That person should have sent it by BCC. In that way, it would be impossible to reply to all.

You had to properly manage distribution lists in my last company. There was a no reply all feature that had to be checked.

This DL had over 5000 people for the US ops that a random update was sent out. Someone replied all with a question, someone answered with a reply all, people started talking shite to the reply all, people then talking more shite. The US VP had to chime in and calm everyone down. It was 40-50 replies all shite talking that went to the entire US ops.

The best is when folks reply all to say, “stop replying to all.”

When someone sends out something really vacuous or asinine to the entire department I will write something extra vague or downright trite just to hit reply all and watch the fireworks.

How do you think they get to be manager? Don't solve problems. Deflect responsibility. Direct and authoritative.

We have a particular large vendor that requires our company to service some of their customers. For us to do so requires certain pieces of information.

We of course never get that info and the small chain email starts asking why we have not performed the service. Then the cluster frick of nobody knowing the needed info begins. The chain email grows as nobody knows who is supposed to provide the info so people just start including everybody they think may know the info.

Like a bad pyrimid scheme, the email morphs into an unitelligle mess. But it gets worse...

Those that reply but don't put their name. Then I have to try and figure out who is saying what to who by looking at their email addresses.

Worse than that is people who have an email address of john.doe@gmail.com but go by their middle name Greg.

This. I’ve started just forwarding my emails to these folks instead of bccing them so it doesn’t look so bad on me when they get out of their lane (or more likely just don’t read closely).

Went to lunch one day and came back and had over 350 emails. I said WTF? A mass distributed email went out to over 1,000 people and a reply all war broke out.
