There are people out there who don't have a full voice mail box?

1990’s called, they want their voicemail back.

I have 319 voicemails on my phone that I have not listened to. Good luck

Boomers
I see this is getting downvoted, but in my experience it seems like Boomers are more likely to leave a message saying "This is ______. Please call me back as soon as you have the time".

I can't leave info because it’d be a HIPAA violation. I just say who I’m with and it’s urgent, so please call me back

I haven't checked my cell VM in years.
Same. I check the voice-mail on my office phone daily, but I usually only have one or two every couple days. Most business is conducted over the phone, through email, or through text messages when we cant meet face to face. It's usually just salesmen wanting to check in if I haven't ordered anything in a while or new sales guys cold calling that leave messages at my office.

At work, you call and leave a voicemail (and I don't know you) with no details of why you are calling, you get nothing from me.

“Hi, this the Fat Man. If you have reached this recording it means my Caller I D is functioning properly.”

After that, I let him know if he doesn't specify why he's calling then he'll get a call back when he gets a call back.
Well, aren't you special.....

I let my voicemailbox fill up so bill collectors and the po-lice can't say they left a message.

My mother does this to me but thankfully she is the only one

If your number is not on my contact list and you don’t leave a voicemail telling me who the frick you are and what the frick you want, I can guarantee you won’t be getting a call back

One day, he won't be on the other end. Call your Dad back.

I'll take it a step further. Don't call me to ask me a question or tell me something that a text could relay easily. Pisses me off.
I have to relay info and coordinate a 12 person crew with a different 14 person crew, starting at 6:30 AM with a 8:00 show time. It's all via differing group text messages depending on the day.
Now if just 3 of these guys call me at 6:45 to tell me their kid has T-ball at 4, or they have a dentist appointment, or that they'll be 5 minutes late, I want to choke a MF'r. Text me. Chances are, I'm not going to remember who said T-ball, dentist or whatever, but if I had a text to reference 3 hours later, I would.
A phone call means, "deal with me now, dammit! I don't care what you're doing." A text means, "here's a piece of info, for you, on your time frame."
Side note- I'm not leaving a voicemail. You might get 2 phone calls, separated by an appropriate amount time. Then, I'm texting you with context.

Work is different, for obvious reasons.
Work clients are the only people that do this coy “give me a call” voicemail with no context.
I usually shoot them an email and ask them if they’d like to schedule a time to chat around our calendars, and what should I prepare? 9/10 it ends up being something I can shoot over quickly in response and they cancel the request to talk.
If I sat on the phone with every client that cold called me, I’d be on the phone all day and never get any of the work they actually pay me for done.

Exactly. It’s rude. It’s skipping the line, so to speak. You aren’t more important than other people. If it must be discussed via voice (and some items are complex so I get it), request a call with me and give me a general idea of what it’s about.

Don't call back if they don't tell you why they called. At most, text them and ask them what they needed.
"what you need" is a very rude way to say that. It's never been my thought that when someone says that to me do I think it's polite.
