I doubt you actually did that, but if so it comes across as rude. It's annoying to get stuck in line behind someone like that, but not really necessary to call her out.
I don't understand this take at all. I find it completely appropriate to let people experience how their decisions affect others. If one person decides their interest in saving money costs other people to the extent that they are willing to pay money to the person choosing to consume more time, why should this communication not occur? This is useful information to both parties. Why am I wrong?

The one that ticks me off is the lady in front of me in line at the cashier with a big basket of purchases .
Cashier finishes ringing up purchases and it appears that the lady is completely surprised that now there will be a transaction required to pay for said items!!!
Oh let me see where is my purse, let me fumble around with my wallet to try to find some money or credit card, and of course the aforementioned coupons.

I don't want you drinking that many damn soft drinks, Napoleaux.
They're bad for your teeth.

My son worked at Walgreens. He had a lady come in and hold up the line because she had bought a case of water the day before that was now on sale and she wanted the 75 cents back. She had neither the receipt nor the product to prove the purchase and just wanted them to take her word for it. Demanded a manager who reached in his pocket and gave her the three quarters so everyone could move on with their shopping.

People who pay with a check is something I don't understand in this day and age. I mean if it is a 75 year old lady I can sort of get that but the 40 year old lady who buys something at the store for $39.95 and whips out the checkbook. Most cashiers probably don't even know how to ring a check and usually takes them extended time to process. These days all they normally do is take the check electronically so it auto deducts from the account like a debit card would. Just pull out your debit card like any normal people would.

One more from my least favorite place--Walgreens. Any time you need a prescription refilled, get ready to wait--even if you submitted the refill online or called it in.
Anyway, I'm in line and the guy in front of me is trying to spell his name for the girl to get his prescription. She doesn't understand him so he says, "Z as in xylophone" then continued to spell
His name. Sad part was she understood him that xylophone was a z. I almost fell out right there.

What about the lazy bitch that goes through the grocery line and asks the clerk for a pack of cigarettes. Then the clerk has to leave the checkout counter, go to customer service open a carton of cigarettes then walk back and ring it up on the ticket, all the while there's ten people waiting in line behind the cancerous bitch who is too important to drag her arse to customer service after paying for groceries.

There should be a coupon user line

Fat white women and all black women take forever to check out. Old women also but I give them a pass. Old black women actually aren't bad, it's the age 20-50 that are slow. Again, any overweight white women is gonna be slow at checking out.

The scratch off d-bags are the worst, especially the ones that scratch at the register, win, keep getting tickets and take 5 minutes to pick which $2 scratcher they want. Then jump in line when they scratch another $4 winner.

Hate to hi jack, but since Cosmo screwed the pooch I thought I should. Nap, I have a thread about a Whirlpool fridge, if you want to respond fine, if not give me an e-mail and we'll set something up. Thx.

I am old and the damn snowtops piss me off. Never get behind anyone who uses a grocery cart in CVS, I promise you they will have a pile of coupons. The last time I was picking up a prescription for my wife and Methuselah and her cart took 15 minutes to check out, the joke of a manager would not take me.
The killer are the old ladies who write a check, then have to record it in the check register before getting out of the way. And cashier, don't thank me for my patience, I don't have any.
While we're on the subject, there is a special hell for the idiots who block you in the parking lot while they wait for someone to pull out, just so their lazy asses don't have to walk an extra 30'. I have a handicap permit for my knee (which I rarely use), if I can walk, you can walk.

Old people are the worst. Nothing pisses me off more than getting stuck behind an old man when trying to check out at the CVS by my work. Takes them 10 minutes to count their cash every time

Work van was too wide for the commercial lane at this branch. Hits mirrors every time, even folded.

I did it. The rest of the line were making faces at each other, but no one dared speak up. I get $3 isn't trivial, but I had a $5 not a $3 bill. Yeah maybe it was wrong, but that's a lot of BS to hold up the only cashier open, for that long over a trivial amount.
I didn't think it was that negative, I did it to help out the line and get things moving. I have paid for people in front of me before. Like when they have a $20.65 order and only have a $20 and then say " I need to take something off"
--- Nope, I give you a dollar.
I hate being in line to check out. I can't wait to the day I can get 100% of my goods online.
Hell for me would be one lane of Wal-mart, with a full grocery cart, a long arse line and only the self check-out open and I have a lot of produce.

Exactly. I was already in a rush. I had to go switch vehicles and go make a car-pool line.

I like using checks when I am buying large purchases for other people and getting paid later. Because a check slows the transaction down a few days. It doesn't come out right away if you have to make transfers.
That's about it. Checks suck. Slow everything down.
I try and explain the best thing to do if you insist on checks is to use a credit card for day to day, then pay that bill with a check. But honestly, chip cards are almost as slow as checks. I hate my damn chip reader.
