I can sit on my butt and drink beer at home.
If I'm going to a different place, I want to explore and see as much as possible. If I'm not exhausted by the time I get back to the hotel each night, then I'm doing something wrong.

I like being busy, but I don’t want to be exhausted. I’m exhausted everyday. I go on vacation to sleep past 5 a.m. and relax. I love visiting new places, but if it requires exertion, I usually don’t want to do it. Take me to new places to eat and sights to see.

I’m headed to the Atacama desert in Chile in 3 weeks for a 155 mile self supported ultramarathon through the desert and it will be the most relaxing week of my year...

I can lounge around at home without the need to spend the money on going somewhere. I don’t find that it relieves stress or gives me a sense of real enjoyment as much as experiencing new things does. It builds memories and lets you know you’re not a machine, but a human being. The phone not ringing is relaxing enough though.

Let them live their lives man. Quit judging. Experiences are better than being lazy

So you spend money to go somewhere and do nothing? Why not to lay on your couch then? Jackass.........

A vacation is meant to relax you. For some it's kicking back in a hammock on the beach while being served drinks in coconuts with little umbrellas, for others it's free-climbing up the side of the tallest nearby peak. Very few people find the travel from home to there and back to be relaxing and enjoyable.
I learned a loooooong time ago that to truly enjoy a vacation you need to have at least an extra day off after you get back from it (ideally an extra day before and after your trip). Take that day to sleep in late, wash clothes, loaf around and get set to re-adjust to going back to work. It can do wonders.
You're welcome in advance.

Do you realize you can do both?
Not everyone goes on just a 3 day vacation

One of my golden rules of traveling.
There are few things in life worse than returning home from a trip at 9:30pm, and having to wake up and go to work the next morning.
