I just park in the back automatically.

Not even to the first free slot. Maybe a couple of spots behind. Makes it easy to avoid idiots that park too close, etc, and like you said: it’s not like it costs you anything.

Many years ago my Mother told me to just park the damn thing and we can walk. I still follow that policy mostly. My upcoming knee replacement has changed this some.

Same people that complain about carts in the parking lot, but wait until they get in the store to grab one.

I see this crap every time I go to the store. People will get out of their car, walk past several carts well within easy reach and then grab one from the line of carts by the entrance.

They are usually the same ones who empty the cart next to their car and just leave it there when done shopping.

Had to break my wife of that shite. She would circle for 15 minutes, avoiding several fender benders and pedestrians just to get 15 steps closer. I would lose my shite on her about it.

No one will admit it, but everyone’s wife does this!

What I find funniest is when they endlessly drive around trying to get the spot that's 20 feet closer to the door, but that spot never opens up, and while they're unsuccessfully trying to get a spot that's 20 feet closer to the door, another person takes the spot that's 20 feet further away from the door. So they end up having to park in a whole different parking lot that's something like 750 feet further away from the door.

I’ve never noticed someone doing that. I’ve seen people wait until someone pulls out to grab the spot.

But I don’t think I’d notice someone circling the lot multiple times. Nor would I care.

Out of curiosity, what are you doing to be watching someone trying to park for so long?

I honestly don’t notice this as I park towards the back, get out and walk in the building.

And if I did, I’m not sure why that would annoy me.

I park as far away as possible preferably against a curb so inconsiderate jackasses are less likely to park beside me and slam the door of their altima into the side of my vehicle. Doesn't matter how far out I park, when I come back, I'm surrounded by shitboxes. I could park on the dark side of the fricking moon and when I come back there would be 3 cars parked around me

This - I’m trying to get out of the lot to go home and some older Karen will stop in the lane for 10 minutes waiting on a car to back out and leave.

My favorite is watching them pull into a handicap spot with no tag or card

Legally, after they walk away, you can let the air out of up to 3 of their tires. Not all 4, though.

My wife will park in the handicap spot, yes, she has earned it, to be closer, then goes in the gym and gets on the treadmill. Her excuse is that it seems to be raining every time she leaves the gym. She has had a knee replacement and several scopes on the other knee.

I have to use a cane to walk, so I park as close as I can, but I'm not driving around to find the best spot, I have an app for that.

It's one of the many reasons obesity reigns in this country and particularly in the Deep South.

Well, the only reason I've ever had to park close is when I was in severe back pain and it really hurt to walk. So, I'll wait on the condemnation

I go straight for a spot right next to a cart corral. If on a slight slope I park on the up side. Unload, push cart 5 feet, outta there.

I believe it’s just people who are oblivious to everything around them.
It’s like the people that park in a really tight spot between two cars when many spots are open all around.

I purposely park far away from the door. Accomplishes two things…I get parked faster and I get more steps in. I’m almost done shopping and fat chick is still cruising around or looking for a motorized cart.
