All I end up using are my use-or-lose days. I have no family of my own right now so I don't need a ton of time off.

My company strongly encourages everyone take their paid time off. They stress the work/life balance to the max. Good company for sure.

An older guy that teaches at the high school I teach at rolled over so much vacation time that he was able to take off an entire school year and still got paid. I was shocked they let him do it.

Yeah.

My company actually just got rid of the "pay it back" option because too many people were just taking the payment instead of actually taking the time off. They don't consider that a good thing.

It's cheaper for them to just pay it back, so them getting rid of that option wasn't about cost savings, but more about employee health.

There was a study on these people, it didn't look good for them.

We have quite a few employees that don't. We do not allow them to carry over but we will buy those days from them. Some do it at end of the year as an extra bonus check, most do it when they need help paying their bills, child support etc.

Mine stops accruing at 240 hours but I make sure to take enough days so that I don't lose any of it. Since I'm with a smaller company now, most of my tasks do not have a backup so it can be difficult to take longer vacations due to the extra work before and after the time off.

I do a lot of 3-4 day weekend trips throughout the year, but I usually do not take all of my vacation. Our office is very relaxed on personal time throughout, so I don't feel like it's necessary to go out of my way to take every minute of vacation I have.

I get pissed at my wife for this shite. She has 5 weeksnof vacation and usually uses 3. I explained that those two weeks that go unused she is working for free.

Mine stops at 360hrs. Sitting at 294 right now. Hope to use 40+ this summer which is our slower time of year. With my company, if you leave in good standing you are paid out 2/3 of your PTO balance.

I’ve got no idea if I take all my vacation. I get 4 weeks and usually take a week in the summer for a vacation. I also take some time around the end of the year holidays.

I don’t ask for off. I come and go as I please. I’d hate to be a salve for logging vacation time.
