Or when you see parents that basically worship their children. They think they are being these amazing parents by putting their children first in every single faucet of their lives. Their kids rule them basically.
We all know people like this nowadays. Instead they are actually failing at parenting and raising children that won't know how to think for themselves or solve their own problems in life.

So you personally know people like this? Are they your friends or family members?

I see it pretty much everyday in a higher-end, reputable HS. We're not talking about people who are just active in their kid's lives. We're talking about ones who give up everything for them.

Let me guess...you are saying people choose not to have kids for selfish reasons.

You could easily argue that people that choose to have kids sometimes do so for selfish reasons as well (men wanting to pass on their line, thinking it will make a marriage stronger, etc).

You actually believing this is one mental defect.

We all have defects.

Some defects are caused by DNA. Some by our environment in which we were raised.

Your insecurity to even admit such a thing would be a defect.

goddamn you're an imbecile.

actually, having intellect to make a decision based off all information OUTSIDE A BIOLOGICAL IMPERATIVE, is the height of mental acuity.

a truly cold, rational decision.

you have the defect, unable to make a decision based on logic.

When you're so triggered that someone doesn't have kids that you assume they're lesbian. Nice.
Just giving you crap. I don't give a shite about your orientation. I have a sister who is lesbian and a number of gay/lesbian friends. Just trying to get a rise out of you.

Real talk: I wouldn't mind having kids at some point but I also want my kids to grow up in a financially stable, two parent home.

Again... This..

There are a lot of people who are so hung up on having kids, that they don't care what kind of situation they are bringing them up in. Many, if not most kids become a product of their environment. And their parents will only teach them what they know.

I remember in HS, there were smart kids who, after graduating, got married and had kids. They didn't go to college.. They live in the same conditions as they grew up in. It doesn't matter how good of grades they made, no matter what, they grew up a certain way and that's all they know. They don't improve their situation for their kids and it's an ongoing cycle.

It's a different world today and people should be a lot more responsible before having kids.

I had a Mom the other day who walked out of her specialist appointment she waited a few weeks to get into to bring her kid lunch because he forgot it. Or they cancel family vacation because Johnny has a traveling team tournament.

Or they never go out with friends or take time to work on their marriages because it's always about the kids. And then wonder why their marriage went to shite.

Shut the frick up, OP. I love kids. I'm the oldest of 9 kids. Just had my first 6 months ago and it's been the most incredible experience of my life.

That said, I COMPLETELY understand the reasoning of those who choose not to procreate. It's not for everybody. Would rather they not have kids at all than halfheartedly raise shitty ones.

GFY.

Considering how over populated the planet is or is certainly going to be, how could a person making a decision on that not make them a rational person?

I dont want them

Im not having kids because society or someone on a message board says I need to

Im positive I would be a good parent but I would hate to tell myself in my head when the kid is 3 years old that I think I made a mistake

Dude...I applaud any couple who are self aware enough to realize they shouldn’t have kids.

Not to mention the current population explosion...

This is more so what I'm talking about. I have a friend like this and I wouldn't be surprised if she is divorced in a few years because of it.

Yes. I have defects. I already admitted that. Not sure why people lose their minds about defects.

We plan our vacations around travel ball tournaments, or we make a vacation out of a tournament at the beach or a destination. It's a win win for the families, the kids and the siblings. You just have to get creative. It's all about making memories for your kids....who gives a frick how you're doing it.

I'm not familiar with this issue, is this really a widespread problem? Maybe you have have shitty friends.

I would agree on the people who plan to never have kids. On the other hand sometimes life just works out to where you don't have kids and has nothing to do with a desire not to have any. It was just the way that persons life worked out.

Can I ask why you’re so concerned with what my ancestors (who are dead, btw) think about what I choose to do with my life?

I can’t figure out why people are so obsessed with everyone else having kids. You seriously can’t just live your own life? If you think people are missing out or something, keep the belief to yourself.
