This is a new one to me but apparently their is a segment of Afrocentrists who claim the entire history of the slave trade is a hoax. They claim blacks were the original "Aboriginal Americans/Indians and were taken into slavery by Europeans that came to the New World. They claim this has all been covered up to deny that The America's are their homeland and birthright. I came across one of the individuals online recently. It's kind of fascinating to hear them rant and rave about their theories. Anyone heard of this nonsense ?

It's not like this was that long ago, it is a theory. There is documentation. Not to mention, if they were natives to the land, they would have probably ended up more like the native Americans.
This is like arguing the earth is flat.

Yes, in northeast Louisiana, there was this loon who made a claim similar to this.
She claimed she was a princess of the Wachita tribe(a spin-off of the Ouachita Indians)
Anywho, I think she passed away a few years ago and haven't really heard much from them.

I've heard of it as one of the supports for "Give us back our land" in the southeastern US.

What are you up to Barack?

Far too many documented narratives from those who were actually a part of the slave trade, both Europeans and Africans, for this to ever be taken seriously.

It's Saturday baw. Why did you wake up and start thinking about the trans-atlantic slave trade.

Stupid people on the Internet? No way.

Yes. We have a councilman in Jackson who says Blacks were in the Mississippi Delta before the Injuns.

Wtf?
I mean, afrocentrists are dumb and almost entirely wrong about everything. But it’s clear and documented history that Africans were first enslaved (and continue to be to this day) by Arab slavers. And then it was largely Jewish slavers that financed their importation to the new world.

There were groups of bums who were squatting in vacant houses in N.O. claiming they owned the property because of some Indian birthright bullshite a while back. Some poor bastard was renovating his home from out of state after Katrina. So ten yen years later, he's almost finished. He rolls into town one weekend to work on the house and there are 5 or 6 assholes in it who have changed his locks. The give him the Indian tribe song and dance and claim that it's their house now.
Showing remarkable restraint, the owner calls NOPD. Those sorry frickers show up, but claim they have no jurisdiction. They tell the owner he's going to have to go to court and get them evicted. Needless to say, the owner is stunned. He then gets jacked off by City Hall for a few days, so he did what any citizen of N.O. does when he gets no satisfaction from the city bureaucracy - he called Lee Zurich.
Next thing you know, the squatters are out of the house. I think they arrested six. Four bonded out quickly, but two refused to give their names, so no bond got set and they lingered in OPP for a few days. I don't know what the final resolution was, but I bet the two in jail remembered their names before too very long.
Maybe tLSU or someone else knows the details. It was about five years ago or so.
