Is this akin to a mostly peaceful protest? What qualifies as an "independent event?"

I guess it's to distinguish from the organized, scheduled shootings that happen in other cities?

"Carnevale" is Italian for "flesh farewell"

If you didn't know that, suck my balls

No doubt. Now get rid of your crime element and make it actually safer to party and watch closer to optimal revenue come in.

Las Vegas is doing it right now, with way more visitors.

Lol, you mean they suspend laws?

I had a great time today. But there was a shitload of illegal activity. Always is.

Also it was one day where it wasn’t too hot and it didn’t rain.

Who wouldn’t have had a good time?

Vegas might get 350k visitors for the Super Bowl

New Orleans gets over 1 million visitors for Mardi Gras

Las Vegas will get 350,000 people for a weekend. Nola will get 1 million over a month. And many of those are from the region and don’t stay in town. Not the same.

How stupid are you?

New Orleans gets more people for Jazz Fest than Vegas will get for the Superbowl

It's telling that only international cities can be named.

Yes, NOLA is the absolutely best in the US at hosting monstrous parties. It's something they have to a T.

If only they took the same initiative in other areas.

I mean there's a reason Nola has hosted the 2nd most SB's.

People like New Orleans because they can leave it. Tourist are never discussing staying.

How stupid are you is the better question. The tourism revenue that Las Vegas generates annually dwarfs (and that's putting it lightly) the tourism revenue that NOLA brings in.

I've been to both NOLA and Rio for Carnival. NOLA is better and has more people

Right. You're talking about shite that doesn't matter to anyone outside of NOLA.
