I live in Pittsburgh and would NEVER speak ill of New Orleans. It is a great city!

Yeah acting like other cities don’t have annual parades is silly.
With how long Mardis gras has been going on you should expect it to improve from year to year.

I only lived there 15 years and can remember a bunch of parade route shootings--a few with multiple victims, people getting killed by floats, drunk drivers ramming into crowds and killing people, lines of cars down streets getting broken into and windows smashed out.
