I'll give you $15 for it.

You take a check?

I have no interest in meeting people or dealing with the hassle. If there was a consignment shop for something like this I would.

Someone took my Masterbuilt Gravity feed within 24 hours. What a relief.

My brother is in possession of a magic curb.

My whole family will take stuff there to get rid of things. Nothing lasts more than 30 minutes.

To me the few dollars I could sell something for is not worth having complete strangers enter my house and look around.

I'd rather donate the goods I'm getting rid of to Good Will or St. Vincent de Paul.

I have left lots of things in my yard for those in our neighborhood (most recently a kid's starting bike).

I have also gotten a few items (most recently a wooden table I refinished).

We do this. There are hispanic families that cruise the good neighborhoods on the weekend looking for useful stuff.

If it seems like selling it isn't worth the time for the price, it's easy and serves the working poor community.

I put a loveseat in perfect condition on the curb just this weekend. It was gone within 30 minutes. Junkers prowl the neighborhoods the night before trash pickup.

I guess I could have tried to sell it for $50 or so, but when I want something gone, I want it gone. Especially large items.

My time and energy and space is worth more than $50.

that's not necessarily the case, a lot of them are getting things, refurbishing/repairing them, and giving to their church for resale or giving them to needy families through their church

I feel like you didn't remove the serving part with this.

They are looking for stuff, and I am providing it. Whether they sell it, donate it, or use it, I am part of the ecosystem.

my sister, who was always a bit off, architect, married to a big shot at GM(years ago, retired,) was on a mission to cruise nice neighborhoods on trash night nights looking for loot, was kind of an obsession, I always thought those architects were a bit Bohemian, but her husband was right there with her

I'm not above checking out a goodwill in a swanky party of town.

I feel like the folks I see doing it in my area aren't necessarily hobbyists, tbough I'm sure they are around.

Certain personality types love shite like this.

Knew couple who would go around to realtor open houses every weekend and do a walk through.

My mom owns an antique/resale shop

She will make my poor Dad prowl neighborhoods sometimes.

His big thing that he looks for is table legs. He can build a tabletop out of scraps in 30 minutes, but legs take more time. So he looks for old tables with rotted tops, but with solid legs.

He can sell a table with a top made from scraps and trashed table legs for several hundred dollars.

I like this tradition. Place something on the curb instead of taking it to goodwill. A neighbor gets it for free. They’ll take to goodwill when they’re done.

If it survives 2 days on the curb, trash man takes it away.
