They’re not moving out, they’re being murdered.

After Katrina both states took in a lot of the nasty riff raff from New Orleans. Go West this time. Neither one of our states want you. Period.

Perhaps I’m ignorant and/or obtuse, but I don’t get the Arabi allusion.

My bottom line is that schools in New Orleans are excellent & entertainment and fishing options are unparalleled for a city of its size. Additionally my commute is 10 minutes on a bad day and I don’t have to live amongst stultifying new construction.

I can have my boat in the water and be catching reds within 40 minutes of my doorstep.

If one doesn’t appreciate good food, good architecture, good music, good schools, affordability, walkability & the outdoors, I can understand why that person may not appreciate New Orleans.

Arabi allusion

My trash gets picked up twice a week, my water/sewage/trash bill is all combined in one and less than forty dollars a month. I also do not have to worry about waking up to a burglarized car, and the police actually have the communities support and show up quickly when you call. I could go on, but its not all sunshine and rainbows of course.

There are certain streets where the 0 through 1000 blocks look like they could be New Orleans (in architecture)

Crime is so bad in Nola, that even the Westbank has seen an influx of refugees. A lot of the Vietnamese in Versailles have moved to west Jeff to escape the lawlessness of New Orleans East.

understand that schools in NOLA are substantially more successful than others throughout the state

school--singular. Other than Ben Franklin which is a great magnet (i.e. they get to cherry pick who they admit), whatcha got? Karr? Warren Easton? Walker/Landry? GTFO

unless you are including the private schools, like the one on Banks street which draws from the metro area. then you do not have an argument.

but you do you. facts dont lie.

and for the record, i tried. volunteered, campaigned, worked in public interest etc. worked to defeat 3T and thought Nagin was the man to lead the turn around.

yeah right. billions of dollars in federal money and yet here we are. with Teedy. and Baby Moon before her.

As long as it is not Democrats moving to St. Tammany, I'm ok with it. If it is, you're not fricking welcome and move out of state.

Like Katie Darling?

I wonder where she lives in St. Tammany Parish and if she's actually from the parish.
