Maybe you got something cooked to order and they got something that the kitchen keeps stocked and just heats up. In that case you should be happy about waiting a few more minutes.

Scruffy was having his birthday dinner the other night and the waiter was bringing out a birthday cake.
Scruffy got all excited because he likes cake.
Waiter took a left right at the table and went and gave it to another group.
Definitely knocked Scruffy’s ego down a couple notches.
