i never give $ to homeless. I would, but just not sure which ones are legit. I have and will continue to give food in certain situations. One had a sign that read hungry one time, so i ran in mcds and got him a meal. I realize people fall on hard times, and while i cant change their life, maybe i can impact it in a small way. You never know when it is your turn on hard times.

Pre cold weather, there has been a one legged begger at the corner of I-10 & ESSEN Lane almost every morning/afternoon. I saw him get dropped off under the interstate by a normal looking guy driving a Honda Accord one morning.

Was in BR this past weekend at Target, leaving out we saw a girl in her early 20's standing near the light with a homeless sign. I was about to get her some money when my wife told me no. I ask why and she says look at her backpack, its damn near brand new and costs a good bit of money. She told me the brand name but i dont remember, apparently its a high end item. I dont keep up with all of that designer name shite so who knows

They could really make some money if they carried around a small trash can for people to toss receipts, cups, food, etc. in return for a dollar or two.
Dude that’s friggin genius. I always have trash in my truck that piles up and I forget to toss when I get gas. I’d certainly give loose change in my truck if they took my trash at stop lights.

Anyone in the Ascension and Livingston areas know Droop? He is a poor man (maybe homeless) but he rides his bike through Ascension and Livingston picking up soda cans and turns them in for money.
I use to always see him in his red shorts riding his bike through Galvez and Prairieville and then one time we saw him riding through Watson. This man rides all over the place and has huge legs

I had a guy walk up to me while I was grocery shopping. He held up an index card with some shite about hungry kids and stuff. He wanted me to buy the groceries in his cart, I said frick you very loudly and told him he better get the frick away from me or there was going to be trouble. He just moved on to the the next person down the aisle like nothing was a matter. I asked the girl at check out if they knew there was someone soliciting inside the store and she said yes, and that he was there just about every day.

I wanted to grab a corner with a sign that said, "Need money to get to Tuscany". The wife said I couldn't. So I haven't. She doesn't know about my "Go Fund Me" Page. Doing quite well, $8.47 so far (2 years).

Sadly, you're right. I never get groceries at target anymore, but I got an opportunity to go shop by myself during naptime. Was hoping to score some Christmas wrapping paper for cheap, but was informed by a Target employee that I was a week too late, but that I should check out the selection at Dirt Cheap.
That's what I get for trying to be financially prudent.

They make more money being bums than working a job. They're fine.

I like the people in parking lots pretending their car is broken or out of gas and need money. Had a guy ask me for money yesterday to buy gas and had his hood up. Why would you need to check the engine if you are out of gas?
This is the dumbest thing. We saw a guy at the Exxon on College with the hood up on his truck. I guess he had no bites, so he put it down and drove down to the Shell and put it up again. Witnessed the whole thing, ridiculous.

I would never buy candy from a random child on the street

People can make a lot of money doing this. Heard plenty of stories about scams where they weren't homeless at all.
I never give money now. If you tell me you are hungry outside of a gas station, i'll buy you a hot dog and chips. If you don't accept, then it just proves you are buying beer. Not here to support your habits. I'll help you stay alive.

I get so annoyed with the kids selling basic snickers and m&m's in parking lots.
When we fundraised for my sport teams or band, we always had to do something to go with it. We washed cars in the local grocery store parking lot for a donation. Usually people gave us 15-20$ on average. Worked out butts off all day but often raised thousands of dollars. OR, we had to be annoying and sell terrible wrapping paper, cookie dough, or America's Finest Chocolate.
I don't like the bucket collection/panhandling crap. But I've only seen it here in Baton Rouge, not back in my hometown. Don't think it would fly in Pineville/Alex.

Getting to be damn near every intersection in BR. They are even now starting to walk in the middle of the street and wave at you.

I've honestly never had one turn me down. Granted, that's out of like 4 or 5 instances, so not a large sample size.
