Pennsylvania schools are just dumb

I'm fairly certain this isn't the same district that issued buckets of rocks to teachers to combat a school shooter but this is a close second on the ridiculous scale.

What is a 16 inch bat gonna do? A standard bat is 42 inches

Several training courses are now telling teachers to keep canned goods on their desks to throw in these situations. I think it was another place in PA that said they were going to keep buckets with river stones in each classroom for the students to throw. What could go wrong?

So, let me get this straight.
On the one hand, the school district leaders have come to the correct conclusion that teachers need to be armed just in case some nutcase decides to shoot up their school.
On the other hand, though, they just can't bring themselves to allow teachers to have one of those evil guns in order to properly defend themselves against a murderer with a gun.
