Home schooled plus anti-vaxer as parent? Child abuse
I have answered my own question. Thanks. Leave it to OT Mensa members to take an n=1 anecdote from an anonymous poster, about an anti-vaccination homeschooler, to not only draw fallacious conclusions about homeschooling based on one's anti-vax stance, but to also make unfounded, completely conclusory statements about homeschooling.
Since this fresh-topic thread has already been hijacked, would you care to support your concluson that homeschooling is child abuse? You can use the doll if it makes your more comfortable.

He also said that you said a bunch of crap that you didn't say.

I don't care if people homeschool or not. You have to admit that there are some reasons for the stereotypes that homeschooling parents are weirdos.
I'm sure there are a lot of normal well-adjusted parents that do it for legit reasons and not just cause they are batshit crazy people that happened to procreate. It's just the nutjobs ruin it for the normal ones.
All I care about it...is that if you don't want to vaccinate your kids(and they have no medical reason why they cannot be vaccinated)....your children should not be allowed to go to public school at all or be involved in other public organized things (sports, etc). You want to have the right to not vaccinate...then deal with the consequences of that choice. The children at school that cannot be vaccinated due to medical reasons really should be able to have that herd immunity around them.

Preach brother. Every parent should at least look into non-traditional schooling options. Obviously it’s not for everyone but in many ways it is much more efficient and cost effective. Plus since there are a bunch of others doing it, there are large homeschool communities in many areas to help with the social aspects.

Lol. He said homeschoolers were child abusers. That's all I was commenting on.

Some pediatricians are tolerant of anti-vaccination parents and will see the kids. Others ban them from their practice and won't see them.

If the latter, congratulations!!
Thanks! I’m having a little boy later this summer.

So they come to me with a problem and refuse everything I have to offer as a remedy. It’s maddening.
That’s the point of the visit. They want you to KNOW about it. They are evangelists.
Psychologically, I guess you have two choices if you are anti-vaccine. You can calmly acknowledge that you are endangering your child and the community based on pseudoscience and no data at all, or you can dig in and become a zealot.

Both pediatricians we've had for our son would not have us as patients if we didnt vaccinate.

I went to the worst public schools in the state. That experience made me. I wouldn’t have made it where I have if I had been schooled at home.
Would I have learned more information at home? No doubt. Would I have been better “educated”? Sure, likely. Instead I learned to learn without anyone’s help. That’s good.

I would put a good sum of money that those two characteristics are extremely common together.

Our pediatrician won't accept kids who aren't vaccinated or don't plan on being vaccinated.
Same. A couple of years ago there were signs all over the office about the change.
They also don't have a "lobby" either. It is part of a large medical building with other medical providers. You check in downstairs and they give you a room number and you go up to the floor and right into the exam room to wait. If there isn't a room ready (which is rare), there are some seats in the main lobby and they give you a buzzer. Also have designated sick hours so if you are going for a well visit, you rarely encounter a coughing kid. Was a little weird at first but it turned out to be a great system.

My first instinct would be to tell them to find another Dr.but then I ‘m not sure I could really do that.
Our pediatricians office does this, Collins Pediatrics in old Metairie and lakeview

To be fair, most of the education system doesn’t teach kids a damned thing that’s useful anyways, regardless of school quality.

You know they make you sign a waiver before they vaccinate your kids so you can’t hold them liable if something goes wrong.

I was wondering how a pediatrician would deal with parents like that.
Why do they need to go to the doctor if they arent going to listen to what they say? Seems like a waste of money.
