A Georgia pastor was arrested on charges of false imprisonment after police discovered eight people, all of them either mentally or physically disabled, locked in the basement of his home.
Curtis Bankston and his 54-year-old wife Sophie are accused of operating “an unlicensed group home or personal care facility under the guise of a church known as One Step of Faith Second Chance,” according to a press release from the Griffin City police department.
Authorities discovered the imprisoned group early the morning of Jan. 13, after firefighters were called to a home along Valley Road to help paramedics treat a resident having a seizure.

It’s like he tried the Bishop MB Jefferson plan of getting guys on parole in the church’s halfway house and make them panhandle for donations at busy intersections. But instead of a halfway house, he did a group home. Hello, somebody. C’mon outta here.

I actually live in Griffin. Can't really stand it here and am not surprised. TigerDroppings really is my news source considering I haven't heard anything about this. The odd thing is that subdivision is a fairly established (white) area in a 50/50 split demographic city. Surprised nobody turned them in long before this incident.
We also had an episode on 'That Chapter' regarding one of Griffin's finest who tried to kill his wife. It's a strange town.
