I don’t really care who rides street bikes and who doesn’t but, I would never have one

Ferry boats? I’d be pissed if that’s what took me out

Still low for Motorcycles.

Half of all MC fatalities involve alcohol.

You can drastically increase your odds over the average joe:

1) pick your time of day to ride. Avoid riding at night if possible.
2) No drinking
3) Wear all the gear
4) Keep your speed reasonable.
5) Keep your head on a swivel, assume every car is about to pull out in front of you, or turn left in front of you, or run into the back of you, or move int your lane. You can mitigate all most all of these issues with positioning, distance, etc.
6) get good. Or ride very slow until you do. Most motorcycle accidents are single vehicle accidents.

More people die on horseback that motorcycles (so I've heard). I would love to ride horses too.

Seems like they could have more current data than 2009.

I'd never ride a bike down south - way too many crazy dgaf drivers around here with no insurance driving like reckless clowns.
Now when I'm working in the upper plains in the non-winter months? I'd be on a bike most days of the week. Going wide open on I80 from Cheyenne to Lincoln or I90 from Casper to Sioux Falls is just as awesome as it gets.

It becomes second nature. And you carry it back over to car driving.
