I lived in Pasadena for five years. Its a nice area that has a small town feel to it. A few things to note:

It is EXPENSIVE to live there. Houses are starting out around 600k and that is small and old. Rent, in a decent area, probably looking at 2,500/mo.

Rose bowl area is really pretty and a lot to do around it.. golf, hike, bike, team sports

Old Towne is fun area with lots of restaurants, bars, art, etc.

There is definitely a ghetto part of Pasadena. Stay south of the freeway if you can. The hood there will remind you of N. BR

The Rose Bowl parade is cool to see but they don't throw shite. After growing up with Mardi Gras it gets a little old just waving at the floats, lol

If you are only going to be there temporarily, perhaps you look at one of the neighboring towns to the east; Monrovia, Arcadia, San Gabriel

You’re not going to get laid sharing a van with a roommate in Louisiana, much less Pasadena.

I live just up the road. Pasadena is great. You'll have plenty of options for living and driving into Pasadena; Monrovia, Arcadia, Duarte, Eagle Rock. Lots of people out here rent rooms. That might be a good option for a short-term stay.

Hope you enjoy it out here.

Come back to my house in Louisiana. Work at the shop and fix and sell cars, until another opportunity arises.

Hopefully after this gig, I can pay my house off in the year after this hitch.

Buy a Mercedes van and VanLife it brah.

An ambulance is cheaper and has more storage.

Selling it wouldn't be a problem.

10 months won't even give you the opportunity to see the next Rose Bowl Parade. I would pass.
