Also statues
The Fire Chief guy was HIS right hand man for that shite too. He’s obviously the true brain trust of the city.

They'll shave that building back to salvage it, and build from there. I don't think they'll completely demolish it. That said, due to lawyers, that parcel won't be in commerce for about a decade.

Tim McConnell is no genius either. When they were removing either the Liberty Place monument or the statue of Jefferson Davis, that a-hole was wearing a mask, but you could easily see his fricking walrus moustache. He was pretty easy to recognize because he's fire chief and on TV quite a bit. Wearing the mask just made him look stupid for thinking we were stupid.

Who are the lawyers that held the press conference in civil district court earlier? I’ve never seen them nerds before. Guys looked like they needed a paycheck.

Actually just read more on the illegal immigrant worker and feel bad for the poor bastard. He was injured on the job site (no workers compensation insurance) and he suffered injuries severe enough that surgery is required immediately. He was caught up in the collapse. He was immediately transported to a local Hospital who then discharged him because he didn't have any insurance.
ICE picked him up two days later at his rental house in New Orleans East while he was bedridden. Now the poor bastard is bedridden in a cell in Oakdale, Louisiana awaiting his extradition.
If he was working on the site he is covered by workers comp. this didn’t happen.

If they didn’t shore properly throughout, might be tearing the upper stories all together.

but the Kailas guy is suspect.
I know his two sons and they are good people, even the one that went to prison for being a dick. Very sad.

The family stiffs people continuously. They might be “nice” but they’re hardly “good people”.

I was mostly being sarcastic. I'm aware of their history, and am not even remotely surprised that they're involved in this. Prav and Baby are fun though.

And let's not forget about the Citadel...Looks like they done left town. Citadel means a fortress built to protect the people from possible threat of attack by outsiders or the opponents....
however Citadel LLC couldn't prevent an internal attack from within its own walls due to their third world country construction.

Someone tell me why they couldn't bring in a couple big hydraulic cranes to take those things down?

Height? Weight? Reach? Safely being able to rig? Cost?

Weird melt... Could it be an office photo after hours on a Friday?

There are hydraulic cranes plenty big enough. One would think with all the refinery construction type work down there one or two would be within several hours distance.
Just seems it would be a bit safer than blowing them.

Any crawler crane with enough boom length and capacity to dissemble that tower crane would take about a week to assemble in place before it could lift anything, and that would be after being delivered to the site on about 100 different truck loads. Convincing the current construction company using the crane to lose one to two months of work would also be difficult.
