You couldn’t have gone far. Either you were in the driveway or the porch. Where else you gonna go?

When you have a van that's wheelchair accessible or friends willing to put your chair in the back of their truck.. There are a lot of places a person can go. My friends were allowed to drive my van.

Stop lying Chris. You didn’t have a van when you were 15.

I think we have some posters who don't have faith in their own parenting job. And no I will never track my children

I think we have posters here that just remember being a teenager, and what happens once you are out of sight of your parents and driven by hormones. Every parent that says my kid will never do that, or my kid never did that, they wiil, and they did.

I’m assuming that most of the people who say they are glad the tracking technology didn’t exist when they were kids turned out just fine. So why not let your kids be kids just like you when you were growing up?

Some boy sent my oldest a crude message in the spring. I got an alert, and sent a screenshot to the kid's dad

Curious to know what triggers the alert?
“Look at this big cock”?
Or “I’m gonna lick you where you pee at”?
“Imma lick your fart box”?
Or did you do keywords like count , pussy, vagina, Dong, ding-a-long, Dick, pecker, lil dick[ie]??
I have so many questions I need answers

Well, on the one hand, I hate looking into the macabre Pandora’s Box that is Owlie’s aberrant soul, but every now and then it’s like passing a car wreck off to the side of the road that you just have to look at.

Witness this cracker-

The takeaway:

He likes adolescent boys with bruises on them?

When I was a teenager I would’ve thrown my phone away if my mom tried this. Good thing they didn’t have GPS on them then. To answer the question, I would enable it Incase they were kidnapped or something but only check it in extreme scenarios like that.

No teenager is going to pay for a burner phone

the neighbor lady caught her daughter with a burner phone lol. she was tracking her texts and stuff so the girl got a job and got a burner that she just used off of wifi to be able to snap chat and kik message. everybody always thinks their daughter is some sweet child who doesn't like to frick but parents need to come to terms with reality. she's popular because she's giving handjobs out to everybody

Even folks who don’t want them?

Lefty or righty or is she ambivalent?

I have questions! I need answers!

from what my nephew has told me (he goes to the same school) she has been skiing the black slopes if you know what i mean. The parents blame the boys for it. Typical over protective dad bull shite. Parents never consider that their daughter might like to frick. Apparently she told the mom that all the guys texting her burner phone were guys she was playing

Tracking their every move, text, email, and social media isn’t enough. You have to create elaborate fake social media profiles so you can catfish them and trick them into giving up their thought crime intentions.

It's really no surprise that kids these days are so sheltered and mentally and emotionally stunted when they have parents like those in this thread.

Sad

I know people who track their college kids' phones. Of course, I'm the MOTY who forgot this technology even existed.

I agree with this. But monitoring their content and monitoring their were abouts are two different things. At some point you have to let your teenagers get out under their parent's wing. And like someone mentioned, and make mistakes, which they will learn from. It's better they do it early in life than when they are in their early to mid 20s...

Just because you have the ability to track them, doesn’t mean you are going to or that you will use it to punish them.

Me and the wife both have find your friends on for each other. We use it when we need it. We do not constantly monitor each other’s whereabouts.

I think the same would be true for my child if she wants to use my car and my cell phone.

I would guess that 99% of the stories are either made up or heavily embellished. who cares as long as it is entertaining

My oldest knows I can see where she's at with basic phone tracking app(xFiLocator) on my phone. But she knows I don't have any interest in what she's texting, snapping, etc to people on a daily basis unless she gives me a REASON to.

It's worked well so far but she's only a sophomore. And she's not the one I worry about. It's #2 and #4 who are my 'bad' kids aka will likely do the same shite I did as a teen.

My wife tracks our kid. I find it creepy.

She also wanted to track me, but I flat out told her, "NO." Either she trusts me or she doesn't.

Quite frankly, she'd be bored to death tracking my whereabouts. I'm either at home, traveling to/from work or running errands.

There is also the occasional round of golf, but I turn my phone off anyway or leave it in the car. I do not want to be bothered while I'm on the course. Shanking balls into the woods is bother enough.

Mine is 12 and doesn't have a cell phone. I'm not sure when she'll get one but I won't track her. If she isn't trustworthy than we will have bigger issues.

Newsflash - she's a teenager, at times she won't be trustworthy.

There are other reasons to have it too. Spying on your kid is just one of them.
