I went to Disney in 7th grade with a guy in our class and his family. Never again. It's a soulless money pit. My kids will also be going to Europe instead and it'll cost me less.

You can barely get you and your kids on a plane to Europe for the same amount it would take to go to Disney.

People hate on the place all the time by what I don't get is why do people get so upset that they are trying to make money? That's the goal of every business in the world from Disney all the way down to your Uncle Joe the tile layer. And they're pretty good at it. Not sure why that pisses people off so much.

Part of the problem is everyone in town is already thinking your an a-hole for letting a gator eat your kid. Then anything you buy with settlement money they will talk about you buying with "dead kid money"

Not what I think, just the way people are

Do I seem "upset" or "pissed off" to you? I don't give a shite what people do with their money. Waste it on bullshite memories for your kids if you want.

Yep, 1000% undefendable case by Disney. Family did ZERO wrong. PR nightmare case.

Disney did the right thing and absolutely showed the parents a plan where this cannot happen again. Maybe even but a memorial to the boy somewhere.

If not, don't worry. They can change their mind. OT lawyers, when does prescription run out on this?

Why?

the bad publicity alone for disney would be tremendous as well as they are filthy rich as well as the records that we heard of employees complaining about guests feeding gators etc. Disney probably knew they had skeletons they wanted hidden. I wouldn't have taking ANYTHING less for sure.

That no doubt happened, but why's it "cynical"? In whose interests could it possibly be to do anything else?

I say that as someone who has been to Disney a ton and has also taken my family to Greece, Spain, Australia, Belize, Germany, Ireland and Switzerland.

This is where you anti-Disney people go off the rails.

Not quite. Cases like these are very hard to prove any wrongdoing by the property owner(Disney). It is VERY debatable on the parent's part as well. Maybe not "wrongdoing" but a bit of negligence is likely.

Disney people are so defensive. And creepy. Again, I don't care what you do with your money.

i'd show video of my toddler's arm throwing bottles at the wall. That's a major league career jurors, a careers worth of lost earnings 18 years from now is like a billion dollars.

Your raging Anti Disney attitude is just as creepy the other way.

I'm sure your kids will be elated to learn about European architecture and history rather than meeting their favorite Disney characters.

Part of the settlement perhaps required a public release of liability.

So when do they pass this on to the customer? I guess a soft drink will now be 10 dollars instead of 8 and a burger will now be 9 dollars instead of 7. That mickey shirt just went from 25 dollars to 30. Dont think disney is just gonna eat this even though they probably make what they paid the family in a few days.

Seen them multiple times at the world. Rather blah.

I'd much prefer a night with Jasmine and a night with Tiana.
