This is part of the reason I work out. I would imagine someone walking around that looks like Arnold Schwarzenegger is even less likely to be a victim of a crime than your typical overweight baw.

Interesting flex.

You retards do this shite all the time.

Simply making an observation. Unlike you, I'm a very involved hiker and backpacker. The U.S. trail system is a community unto itself, a community of millions of hikers/backpackers per year. I'm a member of all the major hiking associations across the country. These associations track the trail crime stats and violent crimes on the trails are practically non existent.
It takes an effort to get onto these trails, especially Devil's Den, and this is unusual for a random killing. That's why I'm interested in the truth behind this terrible event.
I'm sorry my simple observation made from years of trail experience caused you so much anxiety.
You should try hiking. It relaxes the mind and reduces the chances of accidentally making impulsive ignorant posts.

I really appreciate your support. I might need an experienced mentor to help guide me through this minefield of TD member's levels of consciousness.
My alcohol consumption has tripled since joining TD.

Well, then you're fitting in well.

What's a good med kit to carry?

We aren't overnighters, so we dont go that far.

10 years ago, my cajun friend and I went hiking at some state park in Arkansas. It was like an hour or 2 away from Texarkana.

There were a bunch of locals there in so
ide-by-side atvs.

They just WOULD. NOT. STOP. STARING AT ME.

For the record, I'm a brown guy.

I'm glad I had the heat on my hip in case they wanted to reenact Deliverance.

Build your own. Get a cheap red MOLLE bag (6x8 ish), don't underestimate how important it is that it's high vis, your brain doesn't work the same under stress.. Stick a tourniquet or two in it, hemostatic powder, and a field dressing. Maybe a little flashlight or headlamp and some scissors. That's basically what's in my three kits (car, house, and ruck.) Breathing, bleeding, burns, and breaks. Solve the first two, everything else can wait.

We could begin a whole thread on this subject but for day hikes the most overlooked thing to carry, especially for inexperienced hikers, isn't an med kit for external injurys but one for inside the body. Electrolytes. Electrolyte imbalance and especially the condition 'hyponatremia" happens fast without warning. The news reports that you read of dead hikers that were apparently walking in circles a half mile from civilization were suffering from this condition. The simple solution is a pack of dried fruit, or whole fruit if you have the room, for potassium. Some mixed nuts for Magnesium and some salty snacks, the salted nuts will do, for sodium.

I remember having to do fire drills in school once a month. School didn't burn down once while I was there. I'm sure we can find statistics that show how rare school fires are. According to Awgusta, schools should not do fire drills as statistics show they rarely happen.

We had some fire drills because of bomb threats a few times. Probably some kid phoning it in because he didn’t study for a test on that day.

I would imagine fire drills were required for legal reasons.

We had duck under the desk drills for nuclear bomb drills, duck under the desk and kiss your arse goodbye drills….

Its amazing how many soy boys are terrified of guns.

I live out west . Full of soy. And don’t know anyone scared to go anywhere without a gun out here.
Meanwhile most of my extended family in IA MO AL and LA fear going grocery shopping or anywhere without other people without packing.
