Holy shite, every 2 weeks, a cold, a sore throat, vomiting. Does this ever let up? Schools must be filthy filthy places.

Mine is in kindergarten and I feel like our house has had some sort of crud for the last 6 years, so not really.

The best part is when they're sick out of nowhere when you're taking time off to catch up on life.

My daughter was sick constantly after she started daycare when she was 6 months old. I got pissed eventually because the daycare called my wife and i to come pick her up in the middle of the day almost weekly. And she couldn’t come back for 48 hours because she was running a fever.

Eventually though when she was around a year old it let up and thankfully we haven’t had to pick her up but maybe 1 or 2 times over the last year.

Ours went to daycare early so he’s got a boss immune system.

First 6 months to a year of daycare is brutal. The kids have to build up their immunity somehow though and it will let up once they do.

Daycare started at about 6-8 weeks for us… now they are invincible in elementary school.

They also go to the Dr only for yearly checkups.

If your wife is like mine, she probably takes your kid to the doctor every time he / she sneezes.

I went to the doctor like 3 times when I was a kid, and all involved accidents. Two visits that I remember were falling out of a tree on my head, and having a door slammed on my finger requiring 8 stitches.

As far as going to the doc for an illness, my mom might have considered it if I could provie I had ebola or bubonic plague.

Coming up on 3 years.

Before we had our child I was very rarely sick, I think I get 6 viruses per year now.

Yeah, seems like that at first.

You'll have a short respite before adolescence, puberty, and the general era of the teenage years when you will long for the days of

every 2 weeks, a cold, a sore throat, vomiting

And that's if you raised them generally right. It's even worse if you didn't from what I have seen.

It gets better. Kids touch everything and love to put their hands in their mouth or eyes. Yucky stuff

Hey honey, let’s have a kid/s. We can put them in the daycare at the corner and pay other people to spend the time with them that real parents would. Then when they are teenagers we can talk about where they got the strange ideas.

The corner daycare is right on the way so it won’t even bother our busy life too. The grandparents can take care of them when they get sick too so again more time for us! Eventually we will be earning more than spending on their care, we’ll just have to knuckle under till then.

Finished packing for our trip to Italy yet dear?

Have I screwed myself by kicking the fan down the road?

My 18 month old is an only child and has never been to daycare (babysitter comes every day to our house) and doesn’t stay constantly sick. However, she has has Covid twice…

I’m in for a rough ride when kindergarten starts, huh?
