He is quite literally the face of the company, even though he's no longer the CEO.

If you're advising him, and he told you he was going to say this, would you have okayed it? Of course you wouldn't have.

Are you implying that if you sell things that are black you can’t be racist? Like slave traders for instance

On the May call, Schnatter was asked how he would distance himself from racist groups online. He responded by downplaying the significance of his NFL statement. “Colonel Sanders called blacks n-----s,” Schnatter allegedly said, before complaining that Sanders never faced public backlash.

This is great and I don't care if he went on an N bomb tirade.

Don't know about any of that, but I do know he once came in the Garage Cafe and tipped the bartenders with Papa Johns coupons.

Do you realize how fricking stupid this is?

When you say "the n-word", everyone knows what you mean and they think the word. It's like saying fricking Voldemort or something.

Am I taking crazy pills?

Do people really think saying the word outright is a good idea?

He's an idiot too. That's my only point. Anyone that thinks he's a racist because of the word is also an idiot.

Sometimes, in order to be the face of a public company, you have to be mindful not to rile up the idiots.

Hey, it could be a shrewd business move.

Papa John's biggest competitor is Pizza Hut...who is a part of YUM Brands...along with KFC.

He's saying "Hey. People still ate and continue to eat KFC even though their founder/owner was a blatant racist. So (wink-wink) why not protest against KFC and ALL of the YUM Brand restaurants (including Pizza Hut)"

Do you not understand the context here? He was in a private meeting with the PR company about not saying stupid shite. When he said what he did, a rational human being would go "Dude, that is an example of something you probably shouldn't say." It's a teaching moment behind closed doors.

But frick that, let's just leak it to the media to virtue signal to your SJW buddies, cancel the contract, then have to fire 10% of your work force, then get fired yoursself.

This is a glaring example of how goddamn stupid we've become as a society.

I've seen/heard Rogan say the same word (in a very similar context) on his podcast and not a peep was said about it. It's fricking stupid to treat it like it's some word that can never be spoken, even if quoting someone else.

I don’t really see the issue here at least not with Schnatter.

But I’m sure people will boycott Papa John’s for it.

It's different and you know it. He was on a conference call to avoid PR blunders. He obviously didn't think backlash he got from the NFL ordeal was fair, so the analogy he uses is Colonel Sanders. That's such a braindead thing to do.

Yeah, a lot of stuff broke poorly for him in this instance, and the PR company is an idiot.

It's STILL not a good idea to say it in a business setting.
