The old context mean nothing because he can’t say that word.. The power that word holds over people is ridiculous and a sad commentary on our current society

Tell me this, is a conference call between a PR firm and a client public or private?

I’ll hang up and listen.

It's fine if you prefer one over the other, but they're certainly in the same tier, no doubt.

, of all the analogies he could have made, he chose poorly.

Ok, but he was stating a fact and on a call with HIS PR FIRM.

Major PR firms deal with a lot worse shite than this. They work to fix the reputations of drug addicts, rapists, thieves, etc.

This is ridiculous. He basically said "Colonel Sanders did this and no one talks about it, but I blamed the NFL for sales and I get fired". Its true.

He just used a word. And in the correct context mind you and not in an inflammatory manner towards black people. This is unreal.

None of this would have happened if KFC hadn't turned Colonel Sanders' legacy into an annoying circus that anyone can portray.

Sure but it’s not like he was on a pulpit speaking to the masses and dropping a hard R.

Oh come on, Papa John's certainly isn't anything special, but Little Caesars would be at the bottom of the barrel.

I know it's different for everyone, but little ceasars is good in a hurry. The only time I really eat it is if I am somewhere and that's what's available, but I had Papa John's twice in my life.. The first time I thought it sucked, said I would never eat it again.. Then years later I chipped in with some people at work, and ordered a pizza from Papa John's.. And they could have just cut the box in slices and put sauce on it, because that's exactly what it taste like...

In a professional conference call, 100% aimed at making sure he didn't make any further PR blunders, he decided to say that a guy who died in 1980 used to use the n word and didn't receive any backlash. That was his answer on how he was going to distance himself from racist groups online. How can you defend this?

Me and Donald Sterling 100% agree that it should be private, but leaks happen all the time

Perfectly summed up.

I can’t eat that shite though. I need NY style thin crust and there’s a ton of local places that make good ones.

Please tell me what I am supposed to find wrong with story other than the PR form making it public knowledge.

He should've used a better analogy.

But he didn't call black people n******. He stated a fact about colonel sanders doing it.

And it was his PR firm, during an exercise to help him not say stupid shite. Instead of saying "Ok, that right there is something you shouldn't say", they leaked it to the media, terminated a contract, and had to fire 10% of their own employees.

This is so ludicrous it almost sounds fake.

Do you understand the difference between what Papa John said and what Donald Sterling said?

We had a Facebook freakout from some people because someone thought they saw a rebel flag through someone's window last night. It was terrible embarrassing

You can't defend it, but it should be as simple as - "yeah, I probably didn't think that through, but I'm obviously not a racist."

It's not the kind of misstep that doom someone.

The leak is one issue.

The fact that the way he used the word is not offensive in the least is really more the issue at hand here.

I mean, holy shite, what if he had quoted a passage from Huckleberry Finn, are we not allowed to do that either?

"OMG...He said A WORD!!!!"

Before I get mad at this, let’s clarify. Does he wipe front to back or back to front? Does he like craft beers or domestics, and if craft beers, does he like IPA’s or not?

Why in the frick is this news?
