Either one finds offense with the word itself, meaning any use of the word offends them. So they wouldnt want anyone using it whether it be blacks or whites in any circumnstance

I'm a white middle class dude. It's impossible for me to find the word offensive on a personal level.

However, I understand others find it offensive. I don't use it and I prefer people don't use it around me. I find it hypocritical how often it's used among the community that finds it offensive, but that doesn't make me want to use it.

Old Papa John isn't a racist, he's just dumb.

That’s enough, unless you are Bill Maher.

Title is fake news, he didn't use the word, he referenced someone else using the word.

That’s exactly what Danny Ferry did before the Atlanta Hawks fired him.

Sure

But you cant have it both ways

Either the word itself offends you, or the context offends you

People are illogically trying to have it both ways. It makes no sense

multiple individuals on the call found them to be offensive, the source said. After learning about the incident, Laundry Service owner Casey Wasserman moved to terminate the company’s contract with Papa John’s.
This is like you telling your psychiatrist that you are worried you might be a racist and them refusing to see you because they're offended. Isn't there something equivalent to attorney/client privilege in this situation. A PR firm getting offended at a dialogue you're having on how to avoid offending people is ridiculous.

No, you are not. Some schools and libraries have banned Huck Finn and Tom Sawyer, and now they’ve got their sights on that evil Laura Ingalls Wilder.

I'm surprised white actors are still allowed to say the word in movies where it's part of their script.

I don't know if you mean "you" in the collective sense or me specifically, but I prefer people not use the word at all, regardless of context.

Let me give you a true, real world analogy - my kids are all younger than 5. The other day I heard one of the girls say "shite" (it wouldn't be the first time and they understand it's a bad word). I walked into their room and asked if she said a bad word. Her sister pipes in immediately and says "Daddy, she said 'shite'". They both ended up being disciplined.

Was it a factual statement? Yes. Was it still something they're not allowed to say because of my rules? Yes.

The same is true with Schnatter. Factual statement recalling what Colonel Sanders said? Yes. Something he shouldn't say in a professional setting? Yes.

Racist or not, his pizza still sucks.. Seriously Papa Johns is at the bottom of my list when it comes to ranking pizza places.

Black folks are still gonna love that pizza though...

Frankly, I think that stance is absurd. You should've just said you disciplined the sister for being a snitch.

Yeah, I'm sure the kids tell each other how unfair it is that they can't use the word but mommy and daddy can.

I don't see the problem for Schnatter. He did not call African Americans the "N word" he said Colonel Sanders did. They want to skewer him for actually using the word in the context.

If Laundry Service wants to cut ties, Laundry Service is cutting off their own dicks and balls

Told her I appreciated her help but we don't say that word even if sister said it. Told her sister that we don't say that word and, more importantly, we never let our sister snitch and get away with it. Took their Fire tablets away for the evening, then closed the door to listen to them hash it out.
