The more i see this happen, the more it makes me want to start doing it as well.
Why should i have to pay for shite if they don't? And it's not that i want to steal shite, it's more about proving the point of if you're going to let people do it with no consequences, then we'll just all do it, so start doing something to stop them or just close the damn store down.

If I was in the store could I have tried to stop them?

I'd seriously considering knocking a theif down and holding them at bay until a LEO arrives.

Looks like I wouldn't go to jail but who knows if I would be indemnified

Can I make a citizen’s arrest?
Under Louisiana law, the answer is definitely yes. Louisiana law provides that a police officer may, without a warrant, arrest a person when—

The person has committed an offense in the officer’s presence
There is reasonable cause to believe that the person has committed an offense, although not in the presence of the officer.
Further, the Louisiana Criminal Code provides that a private person may make an arrest when the person to be arrested has committed a felony, whether in or out of his presence, under circumstances similar to those which would allow a police officer to make an arrest. There are no restrictions on this, and it is specifically provided for by law. When a citizen’s arrest is made, it is the duty of the citizen to turn over the arrested person to the sheriff’s department as quickly as possible.

I know exactly what you’re saying… I just have the luck where I’d 100% get caught and arrested

Why are stores even allowing people with masks to come into there stores? It’s mind boggling

I am certainly not a baller. Can’t say I ever had the thought to go into a store, grab a bunch of stuff, And leave without paying. Why? Because my ancestors weren’t slaves 150 years ago? Doubt that’s it

You can thank attorneys for making it nearly impossible to hold someone accountable on the local level. The liability in most cases is not worth it.

Stores need to start doing what that Orange County jewelry store did and just kick the crap out of anyone trying to shoplift.

Store management should be allowed to tase them at the door

You know how lines in factories can tell faulty items and they can instantly remove them from the line with a puff of air? We should be able to do that in stores, but with lightning bolts or laser beams... just vaporize them.

I don’t know how effective release of these grainy surveillance videos is in obtaining citizen identification input as who these criminals are. I would think that someone would know them (if they’re from this region) and inform law enforcement. However, if this is the route you choose to take in an investigation, why wait 6 weeks to make the pictures public with your inquiry?
