Tornadoes scare me a lot more than hurricanes. At least you can see hurricanes coming days in advance.

Absolutely. That's something I never want to encounter.

Maybe there is a structural engineer here that can explain a little about the force required to bring down a fricking water tower. I belive this particular water tower has withstood some pretty hefty hurricanes.

This tower has never seen 140 mph winds. Even the strongest hurricane has nowhere near the wind speed this far in land.

I can't speak to the wind rating on this but I would bet there is not a requirement to withstand that wind speed. Cheaper to build them to a lower standard and replace that one that fails every 30+ years.

It looks like this tornado lifted off the ground just after that damage on Dagg St. I drove down Hwy 70 and couldn't find anywhere that it crossed the road, which would be required for where it hit in Convent.

How many people lost their lives in this storm? I know originally they were saying only 2. Is that still the case?

Still 2. Not sure about entire storm. There was 3 EF2s in Louisiana and 1 EF3 from what I have seen.

Man, that was a serious storm. I was in mobile for it and didn't see anything too bad.

The Prairieville Tornado should have been upgraded to an EF-1. An entire concrete wall was blown out at Gold's Gym. It would seem like winds would have had to be at least 100 mph for something like that to happen. Either that or shitty construction.

That was likely the same one that hit Livingston that was a EF2. Probably reformed.
