You must not live in the south or midwest. Six pack of any soft drink is 5.99 at walmart. Even the 24 pack of coke is cheaper than 12 dollars in louisiana."

Read enough 'news' er, stories out of D.C., and you'll need caffein to get out of bed and face the day and stifle, for another day, the urge to crawl back under the sheets and sleep.

Dont buy a bunch of fatty caffeinated beverages to put into your system if its too expensive. Drink more water

I broke out a bottle of Zatarain's Root Beer Extract not long ago and made up a pitcher of it to put in the fridge. You'd likely be surprised just how many young kids have never had that or know about it. It was one of my favorites as a kid and made with regular water, is not carbonated like most sodas.

I also make a good pitcher of tea from time to time since I'm not much of a soda drinker. I probably drink less than a dozen cans of soda a year.

I drink even less than that - maybe 2-4 cans of soda a year. Beer is my weakness.

Dollar General had Coke products on sale recently: Two 12 packs for $13. Frigging ridiculous.

Pre-Covid, they were routinely on sale 3 for $9. Matter of fact, I saw one of those old price tags on the shelf when I was there a few days ago.

If you paid 9.00 for a 12 pack of Diet DrPs, you’re shopping at the wrong place…

Where was it the cornder store?

Not saying things aren’t inflated, but I’ve never seen 12pks for 9 bucks.

I just bought a case, 24pk, of DrP Zeros for 11 bucks at Sam’s.

Never understood why only sodas illicit this response.

I drink a Diet Coke every day. I’m 105lbs.

If anything, it’s the bottles of Cabernet I guzzle on the weekends that I could stand to put down. Not my one zero calorie soda per day.

Walmart prices for Coca-Cola in Louisiana
24 pack of coke is $12.30
12 pack is $6.98.
2 liter is $2.48

All of those prices are way higher than they were a year ago.

I work in an sector directly connected to the food manufacturing industry and the primary reason that prices are shooting up for these types of items is packaging and energy costs.

Yes, they are paying more for the labor they can get but the electric/gas bills to keep the plants running and the higher prices for the shipments of aluminum and other raw materials is driving the prices through the roof.

Some manufacturers have product ready to go but can't get the wrappers/plastic/cello they need to package it.
