The article mentions that the teacher was black and had a racial epitaph used against him but doesn't point out the student was also black. 
Either way, good for the teacher. Kids these days suffer very little to no consequences for their actions.

NBC’s affiiate didn’t mention race at all.
The student hasn’t been identified. I watched the video. And in couldn’t tell if he was a light skinned black, Latino, or mixed.
If he is mixed, Latino and black, how would you like him to be described?

If my kid was acting like that (he wouldn’t) after seeing the video I would shake the teacher’s hand, commend him, and apologize.

They said the boy threw out some racial slurs. I watched the videya. Hard to tell what he is. The teacher definitely deserves termination and jail time regardless of skin color of either party.
