Online donations are streaming in for a Maywood high school music teacher who was arrested after a video went viral showing him punching a 14-year-old student in the face after the boy used a racial epithet and threw a basketball at him.

Cecilia Diaz Jimenez, who says she works for the Los Angeles Unified School District and previously worked at Maywood Academy, started a GoFundMe page for Riley over the weekend. As of Monday night, more than 2,400 people had donated more than $61,000.

“Be mindful that the school district is looking at dismissing him and I would not doubt if the student’s parents are looking into pressing criminal charges,” Jimenez wrote on the GoFundMe page. “I am sure Mr. Riley will need money to pay any fines, fees and lawyers.”

Apparently what set the teacher off is the kid spit on him at some point

If the kid had attacked him I would be all for putting his arse in place, but the teacher clearly threw the first punch in the video.

The full video is hilarious. Kid mouths off for 5 minutes saying the teacher is scared and shaking and why is he so scared, he aint gonna do nothing, "on my momma"
Then when he throws the first punch the kid runs aways and turns to the camera like a lost child in walmart and then runs into a wall so he cant get anywhere so he finally stops and tries to "square up" on the teacher to look tough and gets his arse whooped again

The money is for the teacher, not the kid

Well then I don’t get the part about the racial epithet. Didn’t watch the video but that seems like a poor excuse.

Teachers should have more community support in dealing with these "kids"

Just donated $100. I have had enough of the special snowflakes. The tail should never wag the dog.

The 14 year old earned it. You should know by that age that if you confront an adult, you very well may get an arse whipping.
The school will say he needed to let this kid have his say, or bend the rules so he could participate, or whatever sorry arse excuse is needed in every effort to not make the kid responsible for not wearing the proper attire.
That's the precedent in today's world, no one but those who have shown effort will be held accountable.

The kid cursed him out for 5 minutes, threw something at him, spit on him...frick that. Kids in schools know they're untouchable at this point. This was awesome, and I promise if more teachers were allowed to whip arse, there would be more learning and less bitching by the students

spit on him.
That's all you had to say. The kid deserved to get his arse whooped.
