Chemical weapons use is a war crime. It rises to a different level.

We aren't, and we've used Willy P in Iraq and napalm in Vietnam. I don't mean to denigrate our own social morals, and I sure as hell don't agree with Trump on much of anything, but no one on earth is spotless if we're playing this game.

The laws of war go right out the window when you're pushed far enough, and they generally only apply to the losers. I am 100% certain that we would have done many of the same things that the Iraqi insurgents did had the roles been reversed. Does anyone think that the Spaatz and company would have avoided trial for Dresden had the U.S. not won?

Seeing the bodies of dead children in the back of a truck was really something else. It sickened me.

It sucks, but we really need to ask the question "What's in it for us".

I wasn't expecting coverage to be so graphic. Shoving the camera in little kids faces in the hospital or staging area. Many looked dead already. Terrible

Pretty sure this was done by Isis on this instance and of course they were funded by Saudi Arabia

Watched Cries From Syria. The sarin chemical weapons are horrendous. Too much suffering, especially for kids and babies.

That whole situation is such a mess. Really no "good guys" out of any of them. Assad and Russia fighting the rebel forces. ISIS comes and helps the Rebels. ISIS takes opportunity and turns on the rebels to take control of large areas. Turkey caught trying to stage chemical attacks to blame on Assad.

It's much more complicated than that but it's a huge mess. It's hard to believe anything from any of the different groups. Lots of propaganda from all sides clouding things up. I'm pretty sure I saw that something like 60% of the Syrians actually support the Assad regime and think the rebel group are the ones at fault.

I don't know a lot about that mess but I do know that most of our opinions are based on one sided views.

Watching your kids slowly die a painful and extremely agonizing death is not on my bucket list.

Am I outraged? No.
Do I understand the minds of terrorists? No.
Am I moving to Syria? No.

He's most likely talking about white phosphorus, which, while not technically classified as a chemical weapon, is an incendiary and produces some pretty shite effects if you happen to be in the vicinity of a shell.

There was an Italian documentary made about twelve years ago that alleged we used them intentionally as a terrorist-like weapon in Fallujah II in 2004, but it was largely based on second-hand evidence and "accounts" from people who weren't there. We are using them again in the most recent push against the Islamic State. There are some (legitimate - not sure to this point) questions about the carcinogenic nature of these weapons, but to be honest, a lot of what all militaries use probably has at least minor carcinogenic effects, and even then, that's not anywhere close to the same thing as being a chemical weapon.

Fine line, maybe.

Assad, beginning to secure a level of stability for his power and government, literally has no incentive to use chemical weapons and draw international players back in the game.

It's either he's crazy - certainly possible - or it's a frame job to escalate the war from outside parties. One would think the probability of the latter is much higher.

And the last weapons attack was with UN weapons inspectors like 9 blocks away. Give me a break.... at least be clever with the deception and don't take us all for idiots.

That's how I felt too seeing that awful video. I blame the parents.
For perspective, If you racist fricks get into a race war in America and start killing each other, I'm damned sure taking my kids to Jamaica or Canada.

As far as chemical weapons, what's the difference between a Tomahawk missile missing its target in Afghanistan and killing 50 children?

Instant death versus painful?
