But most of what ISIS controls outside of Syria is in Iraq... and is Iraq even a real "nation" these days?

I haven't really paid attention to the Syrian civil war since Allepo was reclaimed by the Syrian Arab Army

Why would Assad's regime suddenly perform a chemical strike 4 months later

I know this is a minority opinion within tOT but I feel the sooner we get this Middle Eastern war on, the better

I'd rather not punt this situation to my grandchildren.

America will always be a target for terrorism even if we adapt a policy of isolationism

I think we are going to hit Assad, but not hard enough to destroy his government. At the same time, the russians will be unleashing their forces on the syrian rebels. It will be like a Rocky and Ivan Drago tag team on Syria's sorry arse.

That's not a good plan. We just need to support the Kurds and the Iraqis (even though that will come back to bite us)

Or we could go all hippie about it and get our country on green energy, creating a shite ton of jobs, more stable economy and less foreign wars. But nah, frick that.

It's a tough call and a vicious cycle. Take down a-hole A by funding, and arming a-hole B. A few years later a-hole B becomes a-hole A or sells all of our shite to a-hole C who becomes a-hole A. Rinse. Repeat.

To me the Syrian Civil war has a lot of similarities to the Spanish Civil War just prior to the breakout of WWII.

The sad part is that the greener we go, the more irrelevant the ME becomes, the poorer they get, the more violent they get.
