They certainly are the best in desserts such as cakes, candy, etc. For just eating purposes I like cashews, almonds, and macadamia nuts which are expensive though.

Agree about the pecans, except they're expensive as hell. Walnuts are not a substitute.

Smokehouse almonds are underrated.

On a side note, Paul Prudhomme's pecan pumpkin pie recipe is next level
