Baw don't care. His post made me chuckle. Chuckle equals upvote.

Pecans and walnuts are great.

Chinkquapins beat them both tho.

Yes. Particularly the ones on my tree. I think they are Elliot, but I'm not 100% sure. They've kind of crossed or been influenced by a tree on the property near me, and they're a bit smaller, but the taste is just the best I've tasted. They're easy to shell and they don't dry out like some of the bigger paper shell varieties.

look, I know when I’m about to get roasted. I’ve got a tough shell, but that doesn’t mean I like when you pecan me.

Anyway, cashew guys later

They're the best dessert nut in my opinion. Pecans and almonds are the best nuts to eat raw. Pistachios and cashews are the best roasted and salted. The best nut butter is made from peanuts, and it isn't particularly close for me.

I prefer almond butter and make it myself with those 3 lb(or used to be) bags of almonds from Sams Club and a good strong food processor.

Native walnuts. Not the ones available in stores in bulk. The nuts that take forever to get out of their very hard shells, that make it worth the effort when added to breads and cookies.
