So my EV is fully charged, but I didn't think to fill up my ICE vehicle?

I guess you can nake any case sound reasonable when you re-arrange facts.

Again, it would all depend on traffic and length of time on the road, but logically the ICE vehicle would be the preferred option.

And since most people that own an EV would have an ICE also, it's not that big of a deal.

Well said.

You speak for all EV advocates.

Elon is for the reduction of fossil fuel use, not the elimination of it.

So that pretty much proves you're full of shite.

If it isn’t a Tesla, you’re just hilariously fricking yourself. Nobody else is close yet.

Which regulations? They get almost the exact same incentives. There are a bunch of PHEV models available. Also, the R&D going into EV is what PHEV always needed to have decent BESS and management. They sent at odds with each other. They’re complimentary for the manufacturers.

Don't be condescending, you already agreed the point was valid.

Everyone that lives in Louisiana fills up their vehicle when preparing to evacuate.

It's ingrained in our habits, and rarely, if ever, do you do not a bit of planning before evacuating.

Idk why more people haven’t figured out that with an EV you can get a bidirectional charger and leave your fridge running while you’re gone. That’s the best evacuation use case going.

If anyone was using an EV to evacuate they better plan on evacuating somewhere pretty close. But honestly 200 miles is plenty for evacuating in everywhere except Florida.

Storms weaken pretty significantly as they head inland.

EV advocates

I took his post to mean the .gov folks, not really the day-to-day consumers.

A lot of people that buy EVs ( advocates) like them for what they are, and GAS about the "green" aspects.

Which is fine...

Accommodations are generally the issue, so sometimes you have to go farther.

Evacuating does suck though, IDC what you're driving.

This is a niche feature only available on a few EVs right now. Not even close to being mainstream.

There are a few chargers coming out soon that can do it regardless of the EVs on-skid ability. I beta tested one for Enphase. There should be some hitting the market really soo.

So road tripping in a full-size truck that is not built for long distance travel was a problem. Wow. That's so shocking.
