What people don’t realize, where do you charge when living in apartments, duplexes with no garages, basically in 75-80% of residences in the United States?

Many apartment complexes are putting in charging stations.

I think it's like $400 to put in the plug.

Depends on what your charging at. I would venture most would be able to support a 30 or 40amp service without necessarily a panel or service upgrade. Given that most people are charging at night, you usually dint have to worry about concurrent draws from high amp appliances like the oven or dryer etc. This is sufficient for most people's charging needs. Obviously 60 or 80amp service would be pushing it for a lot of people's panels.

The f150 lightnings are fairly nice on the inside if you've ever been in one. If you're bored, you should test drive one day for fun even if it's something you'd never actually end up purchasing because of use needs.

I mean, it's probably more than 90% for 90% of the population.

I don't like the government regulating EVs into existence and it will honestly probably hurt the EV transition more than help it. If prefer the free market take care of it. Musk has already proven that EVs are the future with or without government intervention. The model Y is the best selling vehicle on the planet.

More infrastructure needs to be built but anyone under the illusion that EVs aren't the future is delusional.

They didn’t have another vehicle. Family with one vehicle. Obviously they have some money to blow on a lighting. Hell im thinking about getting an EV but I know it won’t be used for much more than town and quick weekend trips.

I do think there will be more of a transition to electric motors/drive trains even if it means doing some type of hybrid situation, a la the ramcharger like we already do with electric diesel trains etc.

Most of this board thinks where things are at this exact moment is how it will always be. Imagine applying that logic to a toddler

Have to do a half ne day rental in Tampa next week. Almost clicked on a Tesla just to try it out. Then saw the fine print at the bottom. They charge you $25 if you don't bring it back charged. Where the frick and when am I going to have time to sit and let this thing charge while on a business trip? Stupid. Rented a SUV.

chargehub

Seems to be a good bit of chargers with 9 of them being superchargers

What the inexperienced do not know is that you have all that info on your screen. Now EVs do take some planning. For instance, you can stay at a hotel that already includes charging.

Tesla got this shite figured out. Their charging network makes road trips totally doable.

Tesla is gunna make bank as their charging network opens up to more EVs next year.

Seems like the popular locations will just get backed up more. With every car needing at least 15 minutes unlike a gas staton with each car needing like 3 minutes

Oh I know. I didn't know anything till I did a road trip from DC, to Gulfport, to Austin. These same posters downvoting won't even take the time to listen to those that do have experience with them. I'm not trying to change anyone's mind. I don't care what they do. You just hope someone becomes 1% better as a person if they decide to listen to others instead of being a luddite.

Let me introduce you to capitalism...seriously though, owning an ev requires people to operate and think differently. I'm not being rude but your post is an example. You're trained to think you can only fuel at home or at a station. Most businesses can add charging at their place. So you can charge while eating at Hooters or shopping at a small, local business.

Most charging is done at home. In the future most workplaces/hotels/restaurants will have charging stations.

Once the infrastructure is in place EVs will be even more convenient than ICE vehicles are now.

If tigerdroppings had been around in the early 1900's before there was a gas station every 10-15 miles and cars all had shitty gas mileage most posters would be screaming that they'd never get rid of their horse.
