I would assume a shooting happened, possibly in the N Ardenwood area, given the schools close proximity.

In all seriousness it might be an escaped convict or some kind of domestic incident at a nearby home. Hopefully nothing at the school.

All you have to do is cross Florida and you’re in Mall City. OLOM is perfectly safe.

This isn't a news question. It's an "are my kids safe" question.

400 parents calling the school at same time. Asking OT. You go the antiquated method and listen to busy signals if you want. We’ll find out if they are safe or not here first.

Yeah, it will definitely be posted here before the school's Twitter page that the OP already checked.

How do you know they are safe? However you got that info is also probably the best way to get other info on the situation.

The email said the doors are locked and to shelter in place at the advice of local authorities. Why would they lock the kids into a harmful situation?

Nothing on Twitter still.

It’s likely that something like a warrant or disturbance going on near campus. Unlikely that something is happening ON campus.

Most of Louisiana is either a hood or hood-adjacent.

If there's someone on the OT who lives or works in that neighborhood, they might be aware of an incident in that neighborhood. Saw or heard it, or received a notification from po-po.

Just texted a teacher there, they’re still locked down. Teachers don’t know anything.

My children are at OLOM. My wife's ex-boyfriend is LEO and on the scene. He said a credible threat was made against the school. Lockdown in place so they can sweep the buildings.

The official school page would likely know any of that well before any OT rando that may or may not exist
