Four years. I am a bit surprised he got that much time. Remember when his friends and family got on here and said he would be exonerated and he did nothing wrong?

quote:

A contractor accused of defrauding dozens of people after the August 2016 flood was sentenced to four years in prison Tuesday.

Matthew Morris entered an Alford Plea to one felony count of filing or maintaining false public records, in which he admitted it was in his best interest to plead guilty but maintained his innocence.

He was accused of defrauding 11 homeowners in Livingston Parish.

Twenty-first Judicial District Judge Jeff Johnson sentenced Morris to four years in prison. Morris' insurance policy is also required to pay more than $85,000 in restitution to nine victims, according to the plea agreement. The last two victims are involved in civil suits with Morris.

Morris was originally charged with 51 counts.[.

That is just that 1 parish. AP is going to give him at least another 4 if not more. If the prison sentences are allowed to run concurrently, he will be out in about a year. If they are consecutively, he will spend multi-years in prison.

He will never personally pay back all the restitution. I will be interested if/when the insurance company does pay.

Dude is guilty of looking like the typical South LA contractor goon.

ETA:

"Yeah, I did construction Management at LSU."

"Really, what year did you graduate?"

"Uh, I didn't actually finish, but I was halfway into my sophomore year..."

I follow him via LAVNS and he's not been out of a parish prison since going in. Moving around alot but always somewhere he's been charged.

He did lawyer up in February with a veteran guy. Not sure who bankrolled that.

I am stating the obvious but someone that would do what he did to people during that time should rot in prison.

keep in mind that as long as he's been locked up, and will continue to be as the parish cases proceed, there is a high likelihood that time served will offset a great deal of his eventual sentence(s)

He got moved a few months back to a prison in north LA because he was having issues here. The prison had no AC so the inmates would sleep during the day.

Being the douche that he is, he wanted his little law library to try and find some kind of defense and wanted to up during the day in order to talk to his lawyer. Prison changed the entire rules to accommodate. The other inmates did not like being forced to do shite in the summer heat so a bunch of them filled a 5 gallon bucket of human shite and dumped it on him when he was sleeping.

It was my dad that told me and since he works for the 23rd JDC, I'd say his information is pretty accurate.

Here’s a picture of this contractor who lives by Christian values. This is what you get when you deal with people who attend the Healing Place mega church.

Hopefully my parents contractor after the flood from New Orleans is next. POS and wife deserve jail time. Stole from several and didn't pay subs on other house. Some have leans now due to him.

He only plead guilty to 1 out of 51 counts. The OTwas only 1/51 right. May god have mercy on all of you fricks who pass judgment on this church going man.
