From Louisiana. Live in NH. It is fantastic, but the weird thing is that humans NEED some sort of conflict. The problem here is that people had nothing to be upset about. The landscape is beautiful, mountains are cool, beaches are nice, entire state is clean, school system is amazing, the people are generally pretty friendly, no state income tax, no sales tax, and cost of living is not extreme.
But the people here just needed to have some sort of conflict in their lives, so they turned to ‘bored white people’ drugs like heroin and fentonyl. Now they’re one of the biggest states impacted by the opioid crisis. Still FAR FAR better than Louisiana though.
Favorite: Maine in summer.
Summertime/Fall Maine is severely underrated and might be the most beautiful place in the US
Least: Oklahoma or New Mexico

Favorite is probably North Carolina or Georgia.

Least favorite - Indiana. Most boring state in the union landscape wise.
Favorite - (I've not visited that many) would be South Carolina, especially the coastal areas.

Least Favorite: California
If you get outside the cities it might be your favorite. California is a huge state that has it all, nature and scenery wise.

Virginia is a weird state with no real identity. The people are a mixture of northern and southern and the state can't decide who it wants to align with. I mean no disrespect when I say this, but it's too 'militarized' for me. Feels like more than half the people in Norfolk are part of the Navy. The DC workforce has taken over and shifted the state ideologically.

Least favorite: Mississippi
Favorite: Alabama
Alabama is better than Mississippi in every way. Alabama has better beaches, hills, roads, cities, hiking places with waterfalls, sports, etc. Alabama has proximity to Nashville, Atlanta, smoky mountains, beaches, nola, etc.
I praise the metro area of Birmingham often (hoover, mtn Brook, southside etc). It’s truly gorgeous and not what most people expect to see who have never been. I also like that it’s still in the south but has scenery of the Appalachian with enough variety of weather and seasons. You get decent fall foliage, a little snow, etc

Hawaii is easily my #1 specifically Kauai.
California is a close second.
In-N-Out is great. Napa has some of the best restaurants in the US. J-Tree, Yosemite, Sequoia, Kings Canyon, etc are excellent if you like the outdoors.
Was coming here to post these 2. California and Hawaii have some of the most beautiful scenery that I’ve experienced in the states.
Least favorite for me are Mississippi and Kansas. Should be relatively self explanatory.

There really isn't, I'm sorry. Those people are so materalized- it's nothing worth seeing. All of the attractions are essentially the same. It's a commercial cesspool of pop culture up and down the state.

It’s an awesome state, that is inhabited by some whack jobs, but that doesn’t mean the state itself sucks.
