Other than bad roads, something else virtually stops when you cross into Texas.

Attorney billboards.
Son and I did an Astros weekend. When we crossed back into Louisiana he started counting the Gordon McKernan and Morris Bart signs. By the time we got to Welsh it was over 50, and he gave up.
What exactly does this billboard war accomplish? Don't fricking talk to me about free enterprise. Is this really a societal good? Is this what we as a state want to be known for? This is some sick arse shite.

The nation’s largest outdoor advertising company is based in Baton Rouge.

I say it every time I go back and forth. Gf noticed it too and thought it was pretty pathetic. These guys are rich but seem desperate at the same time, if that makes sense

There’s a lot of attorney billboards between Lake Charles and Lafayette because of all the oilfield and plant jobs. You don’t see a lot east of Lafayette or on I-49 or I-20.

You know who Gordan and Morris Bart are subconsciously and you know Dudley DeBossiers phone number by heart, it seems they're pretty effective.

Saturation of the populace so that everyone involved in an accident will call an attorney. In Louisiana, it doesn’t matter how unhurt you are, they will get you to whatever doctor, chiropractor, etc for treatment until they exhaust whatever policy the other guy had. Your auto premiums paying for those signs and more.

A lot of California doesn't have any billboards at all. I guess they are banned or something.

While I agree with your sentiment, the last time I went through Beaumont I-10 was a shithole. It's been a few months, but I doubt it's all done.

There used to be Texas Hammer billboards all over the place from Beaumont to Houston. I guess maybe they are gone now, but there were tons of them.
