you don't need to do shite. 200g of carbs is fine. keto isn't the end all be all. just do what I said until it stops working.
keto is great but at your weight you just need to do if it fits your macros. it works, its proven and its fricking easy.
you don't need to up your morning eating either. eat when the hell you want. there is no value in eating more times a day.

As in 200 grams of carbs? You can cut that in half or even less
will you fricking stop. he doesn't have to go keto. in fact at his weight its no advisable. he needs to learn portion control first.

Oatmeal isn't not good for you, but if you're hitting it at the gym, you have to amp up your protein and fat intake.
My food today
Smoothie with Plain Greek Yogurt, Banana, Natural PB, egg whites & Whey sweetened with natural honey.
Post workout - 2 scoops whey
Lunch - 2 Large Turkey patties, baked sweet potato, broccoli...
ABout to eat snack - Apple with nat PB and Cottage Cheese
how in the hell is oatmeal not good for you? steel cut oats are one of the best carbs there are.
and its fine you like to eat a bunch of small meals. but there is zero value in it. its fine if it works for you but there is more than one way to skin a cat.

Easy bro...You didn't read my post correctly..
I said "Oatmeal isn't NOT good for you"
I eat steel cut oats all the time, but all be damned if thats my whole meal for 1/3 of the day

Wow you are fricking up now.
wtf are you talking about? When I say portion control I mean total calories and macros. Learn how much food is what.
And there is absolutely zero value to a bunch of small meals. there is no such thing as stroking the metabolism.
you burn the same amount of fat when eating 6-8 small meals vs eating 3 meals.

So drop down to 100 carbs? Okay. I've had a bowl of oatmeal, whey protein shake and greek yogurt thus far. How many calories should I be right now?
Im not going to tell you specific numbers because I don't know what your maintenance should be. You'll have to figure that out. And as far as carbs, 200 is excessive and not necessary. Im not saying bump down to specifically 100 grams, but less carbs would def help you as far as fat regulation. That number could be 50 if you want it to be and youre body will let you know if it's functioning at it's optimum ability. Im 230 lbs and Im around 100 grams depending on if it's a lifting day or not (or fried fish and beer like tonight) but that just works for me. Everyone is different.

Be careful with that shite. It's necessary for doing a mountain hunt, but I wouldn't make it part of a regular routine otherwise. Good way to permanently screw up your lower body joints and back (like I did).
I haven't done that since last Sept and wont be doing that again until I ramp it up around June. And I didn't just jump into that, it was a progression and will be again.

no 200 is not excessive. Not everyone needs keto dude. he just needs to do iifym until he is to a more manageable weight.

Im not saying he needs keto. It's easy and works though so why not use some form of it. And 200 grams of carbs may not be quite excessive, but it's certainly not necessary either and can be holding him back.
He doesn't need to do IM Fasting either or do fasted morning walks, but they could both help him lose body fat easily too. Why not try that just because it's not needed?

Because keto make you feel like shite, at least initially, and there are better ways.
Posted on 4/1/16 at 2:55 pm to lsu777
lol at the dumbass saying he needs to run more.
Posted on 4/1/16 at 2:56 pm to GeorgeTheGreek
There are those who swear that running is great for you, but man, it sure does make your back, knees and ankles hurt for nearly everyone who is humanoid.

are you surprised. This thread is the perfect example of what everyone throws out every time. "You need to run" "eat less carbs" "your eating too few calories"
Posted on 4/1/16 at 2:58 pm to LSUAlum2001
I have read some studies that genetically we are the most gifted animal in the world for running long distance and that is our strong point.
but like you said, it makes me feel like absolute shite. besides people in BC times didn't live very long anyways.

Exactly.
Like stated previously IIFYM is about as simple as it can get. Carbs will help fuel him so he doesn't feel drained. 200g carbs is fine. Hell I eat over 300g carbs a lot of days. I don't consider it "excessive" it helps fuel my workouts

I've thrown that one out there but its because of my own body. I have to eat a ton of cals to add muscle bc my metabolism is so damn high.

it can be true but without even knowing his calorie intake its stupid to throw out. could be true, but in most cases the opposite is true. and like i posted earlier in controlled starvation studies the body adjusted and weight starting dropping again quickly after a few weeks.
