They may be cheaper than your $2k-$4k range, but I’ve always liked Hamiltons. Wearing a Jazzmaster day date auto right now actually.

How does the game work? My wife wants a Mint Green Datejust 36 or 41 or a Candy Pink OP 36. All of these choices are trading about 40% over retail. The piss is splashing back on me due to the strong headwind. She also likes other colors which I’ve told the ADs but none of those have been offered either. Should I just buy whatever they will sell me to establish a purchase history? Or should I just pay the premium and be done with it?

I like Tudor a lot for bang for buck. I've trimmed my collection down to really just a G Shock, BB Pro, and Pelagos FXD at this point. Hope to add a Polar 226570 in the next few years but no rush.

A few decades ago they were putting some low end Seiko (I think) movements in their watches and calling them in-house to a degree. Pissed off a large part of the watch community, but many still like the designs and heritage so they continue to support them.
