That being said, three years ago, I was a fatass. I made all of the work/family excuses. When I had to buy a pair of 36" waist dress pants one day, I said that's enough. Now, three years later, I've lost almost 40 pounds, and I'm lifting more than I ever have. I've made peace with myself that this may be as good as it gets for me from here on out, but I'm OK with that.
DUDE, ME TOO! I went to go get fitted for a suit and my waist was over 36 INCHES!
I'm glad we're both shredded now.

Obviously it's different for people whose livelihood is dependent on their physique, like an actor getting ripped for a role. Average guy though? Kind of sad, IMHO

Aren't you jacked, though?

I didn't choose the dad bod life. The dad bod life chose me.
Long time no see, bud. Hope you're doing well.

I understand your basic premise but it REALLY doesnt take that much. More than im willing at any giving moment, but seriously just a little bit of planning and less than 10 hrs a week and that body could be yours. Id be willing to bet many people spend 10hrs a week watching TV. So are you really an insecure narcissist bc you spend it on your body?

Same. It takes a deep level of insecurity to devote that much of your life to a portion of your physical appearance
Why do you think you have to devote large amounts of time? If you have a decent amount of muscle looking like he does is 90% diet.

I work out 5 to 6 days a week. I generally follow a pretty strict diet, but I've been easing up on it because I'm already pretty lean.

Just because you are not willing to put in the work, doesn't mean others are not.
its not about "willing to put in the work" or because we're lazy
its just that we don't care about our fricking arm thickness

yea not sure why but the excuses are infuriating to me. Just say you are not willing to do what it takes and leave at that, but the excuses are an insult to everyone who actually puts in the time and effort
its fricking annoying thats why its infuriating. And anytime you put in the work to get there, people claim roids or some other bullshite.
fact is even on roids you still have to put in the work. still have to diet like a mofo, just allows you to get way past your natural genetic limit.
Most people in this thread are the average american, they are fat, fitness is a mystery to them because of all the misinformation and diet is the same way. Its really not their fault they are confused to begin with, its their fault for not seeking out the real answers though.
for those making excuses do this for me please, just try it for 3 months, please
do the greyskull lp for 3 months here is the book
do the program until July 1st like its called for. Don't miss a workout and log everything.
Also I want you to do ten 40 yard sprints everyday.
for diet you must weigh and log everything in myfitnesspal.
calories-Bodyweight x 10
Protein-30%
Fat-55% but must all come from from meat, eggs, grass fed butter, OVOO, fish oil or mct oil.
Carbs-15% but the key is all carbs must come from non starchy green veggies.
so eat things like Bacon, pork, ground beef, chicken, steak, eggs, seafood, grassfed butter, mct oil. broccoli, spiniach, green beans, etc.
Keep you meals simple. Grilled piece of meat and a veggie. No sauces, but seasoning is great.
Keep it simple. If you can do that until July 1st I promise you will no longer say its impossible to get Zachs body.

im very laissez faire with diet. Dont track shite but have good understanding of about what my macro goals are and what puts me in that hemisphere. I focus on eating a high protein diet and not splurging on carbs but thats about it. given that I'm currently around 205 and prob bw 10-12 bf%. I could absolutely drop to 8% bf and even maintain it, but it would likely be an end to my style of life which i have grown fairly fond of.

I do the carb cutoff thing. I don't know how it works, but dammit it works.
I eat my simple and complex carbs for breakfast and lunch. After that, I cut out the carbs for the day.

It's all about counting macros and adding HIIT after your strength workout. Cardio twice a week

how many people have actually made excuses in here?
seriously
saying that the average guy isn't going to obtain that isn't making excuses, its reality
if you want to count your calories and measure you arm thickness everyday, by all means, go ahead, I'd rather shoot myself in the face though
