IF isn't about cutting BF. Its a lifestyle choice that allows you to eat bigger meals, staying leaner while having more flex in diet and a ton of other health benefits.

In fact the original lean gains 16/8 protocol was about how to recomp without gaining tons of fat. It worked well and he started playing with the macros % and calories and came up with systems that work extremely well no matter your goal.

I get all of that which is why I'm still trying. To be clear Im not the biggest eater and am simply worried about fitting all my macros in an 8hr window

I understand your basic premise but it REALLY doesnt take that much. More than im willing at any giving moment, but seriously just a little bit of planning and less than 10 hrs a week and that body could be yours. Id be willing to bet many people spend 10hrs a week watching TV. So are you really an insecure narcissist bc you spend it on your body?

This is the shite that pisses me off. People act like it takes 75 hours to make a meal with chicken breasts and vegetables.

I'd say I devote roughly 7-8 active hours a week (Mon-Fri usually) in the gym. If you want to factor in driving there and back plus showers, make it 10 hours a week.

Do yal think I have to fly to some space age market to find healthy food? Do you think it takes any longer to prepare healthy food than melted cheese slop? Well maybe it takes a tad bit longer, but I'm not Bobby Flay'ing this shite, it's fairly simply.

I got plenty of friends who watch 10 hours more of TV a week than I do or some other thing that I consider a waste of time. It's my hobby that I enjoy doing. Benefits are it makes me healthy, and I look pretty good on the beach.

I know people who have much worse habits, much more expensive habits, and habits that don't lead to a God damn tangible thing.

well 4% is unobtainable for most but its laughable anybody thinks Zach is close to 4%.

and the comment about you being a runner was to say how is you doing that for 5 hours a week any different from somebody lifting and doing HiiT for 5 hours a week? why is one obsessive and one is not? Why is the weight lift narcissistic?

and if you are a runner, you aren't lazy, because frick that running is hard, but the average guy is lazy as hell and most think anything that requires really heavy breathing like sprinting isn't good for you.

the average american is clueless on what fitness really is. Thats why(hate on it all you want) Crossfit works so well for so many. Because it teaches them how to push themselves. Almost all that didn't play sports growing up have no idea how to push themselves.

and bottomline is less than 5 hours in the gym plus 2 hours of meal prep on a sunday is perfectly obtainable for the average american.

last year the average american spent 4 hours and 51 mins watching tv.....A frickING DAY!!!! YES A frickING DAY.

first I don't see how that is even possible but i guess if you come home at 5 and plop down and dont move other than to answer the door for the pizza guy until 10, its possible.

SO don't tell me 8% bf is unobtainable. hell you could get there in a year with 3 days a week of really progressive overload lifting, a strict arse diet combined with Intermittent fasting. When I say strict diet I mean a balanced 40/30/30 diet.

exactly how I feel. Honestly though it can be done in as little as 3 to 4 hours a week. Not gonna happen overnight though.

4 hours a week is less than the average american watches tv for in a damn day.

so true. My fiance' didnt play sports and nearly impossible for me to relay to her what truly pushing yourself is. For most its riding the line at discomfort and that will simply never produce the results you strive for

You certainly don't. I'm pretty sure you don't know what 8% looks like. Professional body builder don't walk around near that all year.

I don't think the working out is obsessive, I think counting macros and shite is though JMO

I never said this

right, which what I think the real problem is, especially for the average person that is trying to get in shape

just so much misinformation out there that they try things that are supposed to work, that fails, they get discouraged, and fall back into whatever they were doing before

I think the point is that for all practical purposes, it is unobtainable to many because they don't share your enthusiasm for putting in that work. In theory based on your logic, nothing is unobtainable. But in practice, it's a dramatic lifestyle change for many and that is something that doesn't just happen.

You could probably do my job. All you need to do is go back to school to the right degree, pass a few certification exams and get a couple years of experience. Sure it would drastically change your life, but it's doable. You'd also have to find a passion for something that is probably boring to 90% of people.

I'm not arguing that it's not doable, and I am definitely not hating on anyone who puts a lot of work into their body and health. I do just enough to not balloon up because I'd have to lose a lot of what I enjoy to look like Zac Efron.

I won't even argue that for some it's just laziness. That's pretty much true for me.

That would be bc many dont even attempt to. Many admittedly go through sloppy bulks with only goal at protein and calorie surplus. then they do a hard pullback and cut leading up to show

I'm telling you as a 40 year old with a real job and kids, you aren't walking around at 8% if you volunteer to coach or go to your kids practices. These are all choices. My wife prefers me to be involved than to have 8% body fat.

Im actually about to turn 42 and I do not have kids. That said why do you think it takes some insane amount of time to achieve and maintain. I go long stretches where I do zero cardio. I usually work out four ours a week for an hour and a half. All it takes is being strict with your diet.
